hi Guy's.
Steam Summer Sale ...
Ten percent, what can you do with it?
The percentages are probably so low because of the Proposed referendum on United Kingdom membership of the European Union? :black:

Well, I have never commented on any STEAM Sale in the past, but I feel the need to this time.

What a waste of hype and time this "spectacular" Summer Sale has turned out to be ! I am totally dissappointed and underwhelmed by it to be honest !

I didnt expect VERY new routes such as "South Wales Coastal" to be reduced, but really OLD items such as the Class 35 Hymek is STILL at full price. I have a friend who owns this loco, and its nowhere near the standards of detail we have come to expect these days, so I would have expected SOME discount on it. As a general comment, I feel the amount of discount and variety of them applied, is pretty much the same as the Winter sale was. And THIS has been hyped as the biggest annual sale !
Many items are now long in the tooth, and are crying out for some sort of discount to be applied, but sadly it hasnt happened.

Although I have by far the majority of UK routes and locos, there were still odds n sods that I would have been glad to purchase, but unless I havent checked it out properly, I will be giving the whole thing a total miss and not spending a penny.

The only assumption I can make is that STEAM or DTG must be making enough profit that they dont need a massive Summer sale ?

Yours dissappointingly

Derek

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous, ice. It appears that many Victory Works and other 'subcontracted' items are only 20% off this time. Not much interesting for me this sale with these discounts I am afraid. :-?

I checked the marketplace items and also here most newer items are not discounted. Rather disappointing sale this is. Good for my wallet though.

Hi Again

Further to my last comments re STEAM summer sale and lack of items for sale...

I had checked what was on sale through the "Store" tab in the game. However, when I went to the STEAM Website and clicked on "view all downloadable content", there were a LOT more items on sale ! With some reasonable discounts apart from the latest releases of course. Why the powers that be cannot sort out this problem of directing potential customers to a site where details of the sale is accurately portrayed, beggars belief ! They will probably lose vital custom if it is not corrected soon. My memory tells me that this confusion over what is on sale and where to purchase it from is not the first time it has occurred.

Bone and North Somerset at 50% off are fine for me though. VR Marketplace stuff is all reduced as well.

Looks like Marketplace is where I'll be shopping. 10% off on a $30 item isn't enough. Will wait until next time.

Most third-party/subcontracted stuff are 50% off.
What's new is that the Pro range (including Victory works products) are 20% off (as I type).

I've been waiting for sale, mostly for getting the DLC I need for a third party (not on Steam) route. However:

UK Collection £12.49, included London - Ipswich (the DLC I need), plus quite a bit else, including the Class 90. But there's a separate London - Ipswich plus just the 90 for £14.99. Am I missing something here? The cheaper one includes the same as the more expensive pack plus more as far as I can see. I could get just the route I suppose, I'm not particularly bothered about the rest, but don't see the downside to getting more stuff here.

Trouble is a few of the items in the pro range are already a few years old (150/2 etc.) and where discounted a lot more than 20% in previous sales .

10% off the most recent content is probably to stop the complaints about newer content not being reduced , Yes its a discount before the forum sale police pull me up , but 10% aint really worth it .

The 50% off wagons from the Marketplace will be my main target , You can never have too many wagons

As far as I know the routes are the same and you will have a good deal buying the UK Collection. So yes, go for it I would say. :D
