The Kevin Valley Railway from Maryhill to Larbert via Kilsyth with the Denny Branch and link line to Kirkintilloch and the Blane Valley route.
The Blane Valley Railway from Kirkintilloch to Aberfoyle.
The Bairds Mineral line to the Pits round Kilsyth.
Quick Drive from all parts of the route.
The Blane Valley Services Ran From Glasgow Queen Street to Aberfoyle Leaving the Glasgow To Edinburgh line at Lenzie Junction to the north of Kirkintilloch through Back of Loch halt to Kirkintilloch Station where this part of the route starts.
From there either direct to Aberfoyle or mostly to Blainfield and a Steam Railmotor ran from There to Aberfoyle.
There were also Services from Queen Street to Kirkintilloch and Lennoxtown .
Services on the Maryhill to Larbert section started at Glasgow Queen Street and ran via a junction at Anniesland this part of the line continues today on to Ashfield.
Some stations on the route were closed as far back as 1931 with the routes being closed apart from Kirkintilloch to Lennoxtown and Kirkintilloch to Kilsyth which closed in 1966.
As with many routes closed then the Kilsyth/ Lennoxtown to Glasgow via Kirkintilloch would now be a busy commuter route . And Glasgow to Aberfoyle would be a superb tourist line to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national Park.
Hope you enjoy.
As I don't do Asset building so the stations are built using available assets. Information and photos of the old line is limited but I hope you enjoy my interpretation.
It is a great route for small engines with small passenger trains and plenty goods(Kilsyth area) and cattle sidings (Blanefield to Aberfoyle) section. Most of the stations have a goods shed or goods siding.
