Armstrong Powerhouse Class 205 Thumper!!

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 205 Thumper!!
Don't forget, one thing I had a hand in, RW Tools has a ferret to extract just rolling stock bin files from an individual ap in the 'Find all .ap' section, it's a very useful but space saving way of getting stuff out if you're not doing any reskins etc.

Are you taking the report from RW Tools stating a .xml file is being called for literally? RW Tools will show .xml extensions for .bin files in many cases.
Do you see .bin files in the folder using Windows Explorer?

Just because you don't own all the required assets does not stop you running the scenarios - some of the AI Trains you might see will not be there unless you swap the missing trains with RW Tools.Danbob210 wrote:Didn't I clearly say that I can't run over half of the scenarios! The unit is well worth £15 (after all DTG have just released an advanced loco for £18), but most people can't run these scenarios, due to lack of rolling stock and/or a not good enough PC. Anyway, we each have our own opinions, hence some of us buy and some of us don't.
I don't own the AP 456 but a quick swap with the default South London 456 does the job for something you see going past for a min or so.
It might be a penny off £20 but you do get 10 different liveries and as the train is not an Emu you could run it on any UK route.
I think a trip on Weardale is required

Danny's South London to Brighton route is not used for any of the included scenarios.rosschris10 wrote:could be because the scenarios requiring the South London route either enter or leave London Bridge something you cant do on the London to Brighton routetycoonkid9 wrote:I cannot understand why the South London to Brighton route was used for some scenarios.

Option 1 - stick the PDF on a phone or Tablet.rosschris10 wrote:i would do if i have a working printer and Ink for said printer. Wonder why i didnt think of that in the first placesmarty2 wrote:Just print out the relevant pages, that's what I have done. What a lovely lovely model, AP and co have raised the bar once again, even surpasses railrights 40! Top marks fella's.
Option 2 - go to a Staples store with the file on a Zip drive and pay them to print it out.

All very true, but tbh I can't be bothered with the amount of stock I'm missing, if scenarios appear for Weardale of Liverpool to Manchester this may change my mind though749006 wrote:Just because you don't own all the required assets does not stop you running the scenarios - some of the AI Trains you might see will not be there unless you swap the missing trains with RW Tools.Danbob210 wrote:Didn't I clearly say that I can't run over half of the scenarios! I understand. That was a typo. What I need to know is why the scenario writers did not opt to use the combined route.749006 wrote:Danny's South London to Brighton route is not used for any of the included scenarios.rosschris10 wrote:could be because the scenarios requiring the South London route either enter or leave London Bridge something you cant do on the London to Brighton routetycoonkid9 wrote:I cannot understand why the South London to Brighton route was used for some scenarios.

Possibly because it's not an official route. Both London-Brighton and South London Lines are "purchase, install, enjoy" with full support---Danny's merge isn't. Many would shy away from a merged route, particularly if they believe their PC isn't up the job of running a merged copy.tycoonkid9 wrote:What I need to know is why the scenario writers did not opt to use the combined route.
If you'd like scenarios for the merged route why not take it as an opportunity to learn how to do it and give something back to the community?

Because not all purchasers of the 205 may be aware of, or indeed if they are, might not want to/be able to use Steam Workshop.tycoonkid9 wrote:I understand. That was a typo. What I need to know is why the scenario writers did not opt to use the combined route.
Plus it's less phaffing.

I upload the PDF to my Google Drive account, where I have a folder for TS Manuals, then on my phone or tablet I can open the PDF to look up all what I need to know

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 205 Thumper!!
I don't have a tablet, my phones useless at displaying .pdf documents as the screen's too small and I'm too tight-fisted to get copies printed...
It's easy enough to have the .pdf open behind the game, minimising the game with the Windows key when the .pdf needs reading--even easier if you run the game in a Window whilst you're 'learning'.
In short, lots of ways to get around the *problem* so it can't really be cited as something major.

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 205 Thumper!!
I used to have an old PC many years ago that didn't have nearly enough memory to keep anything open next to TS, not even enough to properly run TS but barely limping by...
That's when I started uploading manuals to my Google Drive.
Still from time to time a convenient way to both look at a manual and at what you're trying to do on screen.

We did spot this, but it was too late unfortunately! Its caused by the headcode number geometry and its on the fix list.smarty2 wrote:Anyone notice some strange shadows being cast from the roof looks like tuning forks? http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =742476851 Click on the image for a better view.

Re: Armstrong Powerhouse Class 205 Thumper!!
I had a strange problem - I thought I would look at the various vehicles on the Test Track.
Having created a blank scenario for the Test Track I attempted to place the vehicles on the track.
But just putting any of the DMBSO varients on the track caused the scenario to crash - with nothing else on the layout.
I have tried most of the consists in Quick Drive without any problems.
Not sure what could be causing it.
