The Kyle Line.

Post by earwigo »

I am playing the first scenario on this line, and find that when I get to Garve (where I arrived 6 mins. early), the program kept me waiting in platform 1 until more than two minutes after the booked departure time, even though the train going in the other direction was already in platform 2, so wasn't causing an obstruction.
As a result of this I was late arriving at Lochluichart, and didn't get the tick for that.
I like to achieve what is required in completing a scenario, and it's very disappointing when this appears to be impossible, as in this case.
Has anyone else come cross this, and is there a fix for it, please?
Thanks as ever,
Stuart. 8)

I have come across that error too. I don't know what the fix is though.

Hello,

When you say 'kept you waiting', is that due to the timing of the stop (the red progress bar thing) or the signalling?

*** edited after thinking more about this*** If it is the timing bar thing, I've noticed from my efforts at scenario creation that I've sometimes had similar issues when timetabling a stop that is anything longer than the default 35 seconds. When in the scenario editor looking at the instructions for the train in question, there are three timing sections to input: arrival time, departure time, and duration. The duration is calculated by the computer once the new departure time is added, but the arrival time (unless altered by the creator) is worked out by the system based on when it expects you to get there. This could be even earlier than the six minutes early that you are getting there... but once you do get there, whenever that is, you would then have to wait for the duration to time out before leaving. The timings can be tweaked in the editor, shortening the duration would possibly solve the issue.

As I don't have the route in question I cannot check if this is the case here, but it sounds like it could be... I'm sure someone more experienced than me will come up with a definitive answer for you!

Best of luck...
