Not started doing the scenario pack yet, although it won't use the BR Blue Diesel Pack as those generally aren't preserved examples. Not sure yet what scenarios I'll be doing to be honest, but there will be a good variety and I'll try and keep the dependencies for each one down where possible.

I would tend to disagree on the lack of BR Blue preserved locos.

There are locos of classes 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 31, 33, 37, 40, 44, 45, 47, 50, 52, 55 & 56 in BR Blue.

I think he means that the ones in the BR Blue pack aren't the ones that are preserved on the CVR: 33102, 33021, 47524, D7672 Tamworth Castle and
D2334.

Well either way Peter,I don't own the pack so it's not very likely that they'll be used

My post was a little incorrect I guess. We will use our WVR Class 25 reskin of "Tamworth Castle" in some scenarios,33102,33021 and a number of others. I generally prefer to use DTG/JT locos or ones that have had significant time spent on them by freeware devs/our team/have an AP sound pack. The BR Blue Diesel pack is OK,but I'm under the impression they use the sounds by he who shall not be named?

Hi
Thanks for your reply re diesel locomotives,I've got some 33's and hopefully the 47's I like the idea of having Tamworth Castle,it's nick name used to be the Ice Cream, due to it's livery, when the BR apprentices first got their hands on it.

Indeed you're quite right about D7672. Our livery depicts it in green with snow ploughs.

The class 31, 37, 55 and 105 from the BR Blue Pack do have updated AP sound packs to support them, and they're the only classes that have AP sound packs done. Richards Tamworth Castle is also based on the BR Blue Pack version on the Class 25 as it has the three full size cab front windows, WVR one has the crew door cut down central cab front window.

It 's not a very good preserved railway if it does not get visitors - most of them make have interesting galas :)
This weekend the Severn Valley Railway has a diesel weekend with visiting locos including a 66 which will be named and 68025 :o

Still RW Tools can make the scenarios more interesting.

Don't worry the scenarios will have plenty of interest

Comment ref not getting blue diesels pack is tongue in cheek, will get it when I have money,£957 tomorrow for car insurance is kind of in the way of TS Investment atm :x

Unfortunately these days the CVR is very boring in terms of visiting locos, lucky to get more than 2 a year :(

That's a shame as my experience of it in sim has enticed me to visit the line in real life at some point to experience the run to Cauldon Lowe.

Totally agree, I would love to get a trip behind the S160 up to Cauldon Lowe, If it's anything to go by the video's on YouTube it looks incredible.

Remember the line beyond Ipstones and beyond Froghall is ripped up in real life, though the Ipstones line is still worth doing as it's the full climb.

The 33 and S160 are worth going for alone, but it's not worth bothering if you only go for mega galas lol

The 2010 Cauldon Gala was an epic,44767,34028,71000 and 48624!

More interesting? Come on, Peter - Mark & co haven't even made the scenario pack yet! And how do you know how many visitors the real CVR gets? :o

It's not really fair to compare the CVR and SVR. The Severn Valley have existed for over 50 years, whereas the CVR is a relatively new heritage railway. They're not exactly in a mega tourist area either.

Regards
Matt

PS: Whether the real-world lines have there obvious differences or not, that doesn't change how good the VP representation of the CVR is!
