I'm trying to figure out whether the mention of South Africa is sarcasm of some description or not considering the previous discussion in this thread.
Donal.

I think it was a suggestion of a locomotive they could possibly develop in the future.

Looks like a BR Standard 2MT to me (which btw was done by DT in 2013)...

But to the George Ivatt design or the Robert A. Riddles design?

It wasn't sarcasm at all I used to work for South African Railways and Henschell built quite a few classes of Locomotives for them, including the 15F and the class 25's it was a suggestion for a model,at some time in the future.
The 25C condensing locomotives were massive, they had a large condensing tender, they were mostly used across the Karoo dessert between Kimberly, De Aar and Beaufort West, due to lack of water in the Karoo Desert.
I can't understand why the question was being sarcastic, after all DTG have got a South African Route,Ladysmith-Pietermaritzburg, I used to work near Durban East of Pietermaritzburg

Locomotives associated with less than savoury regimes. The point I was trying to make, in my usual clumsy way, is where do you draw the line in that regard? In my opinion if the thing existed, it existed symbols and all, TS is a real world simulator after all.

Hi Donal,
I'm only asking about locomotives, not about past and present unsavory regimes, after all nearly all countries at some time through history had a dark past.
South African Railways Locomotives, just had SAR and SAS on their tenders,SAR was English,SAS was Afrikaans and stood for Suid Afrikaans Sporweg.

The Riddles design, as he was responsible for the BR Standard classes.

Riddles based a lot of his BR Standards on LMS Locomotives,as he was trained and spent most of his life working for the LMS,his first loco's were the wartime WD 2-8-0 and 2-10-0's, after the war he went back to the LMS until his appointment with the British Transport Commission

Lots of things have been done by other people before... just because it's the same engine in the real world doesn't mean it's going to be the same engine in the simulator.

Does it really matter whether it's a Ivatt or Riddles 2-6-0 ,the ones I have seen for TS seem to be the Ivatt, version,so hopefully this will be a BR Riddles Std 2 2-6-0

It doesn't really matter...
I've been using the lovely little DT 78xxx 2MT as a visual stand in for the 46xxx 2MTs that were allocated to Brecon shed.(I must admit, I haven't tried changing the loco number in the editor and therefore don't know if the first two digits are locked down to "78")

Long time no speak (for those of you who have not liked our Facebook page, at least - if you're on Facebook, you can find the link in my sig)!
We have not been "unbusy" by any means - work on the BR 52 has been experiencing quite a few bumps in the road, so to speak, but we finally got a basic working steam locomotive minus a large number of animated parts ready and tested. We've also been working on other things including a plethora of paid commission pieces, and have got an agreement in principle with SSS and TAA Developments to resurrect the Ivatt 4MT project.

The commission pieces are entirely complete, but the BR 52 is still very much work in progress in every possible respect.

Perhaps it would be best if I actually ensured the images displayed correctly.....
For some reason they refuse to cooperate despite having ensured I am using the album image code correctly as per my other posts where the images display correctly.
I realised that the first culprit was likely the spaces so I have tried the same images without spaces in the names (renaming existing ones, and reuploading from scratch) and no joy, so links instead:

More news on the BR 52 soon, and in the background, other projects are in progress.
