Hi Smarty2 - would like to know how you sort your routes into different folders, say, by country & then, how do you get the route to play it ? I'm completely non tech & I suspect it's probably quite complicated. Any help & advice would be gratefully appreciated - thanks in advance - Steve

For future reference. The easiest way to find GUID is through the in game build menu. Select the route in question and the GUID folder number shows in the bottom right. If you are set to Borderless or Windowed, you can open the route folder aswell.

What I have done, simply because TS threw a wobbly and crashed due to the number of routes and/or scenarios,
I have divided my routes up into (for the UK): Routes ER (Eastern region); Routes SCR (Scottish); Routes LMR (London Midland);
Routes WR (Western) and Routes SR (Southern). Then I have Routes EUR (for my main European routes), Routes OTH [other]
(for other foreign routes); Routes USA (for USA routes) and finally Routes Sundry (for stuff like TestTrak, Halloween etc. etc.).

When I want to play (say) a Western Region route, I simply renamed Routes WR to Routes, load the game and play.
When done I rename Routes back to Routes WR.

To make things simple when Steam updates routes/scenarios, in each of the above Route folders I have also created
(what I call) Routes headers [simply empty directories] - a fictitious example below:-

012abc34 ----------USA----------- New York to San Francisco <--- my header
012abc34-1234-5678-0000-2015 <--- the actual route folder

Once Steam has updated, I simply move the routes into whichever folder they belong in.
Sounds a bit complicated but in practise takes no more than 10 minutes, say, once a week.
And TS does not then throw a wobbly :-)

Thanks chaps, and thanks Dave for explaining how to do the route folders, saved me a job there mate!
I go "offline" to stop steam from re filling my specified route folders with routes I do not want in them! :x

If I could think of a way to send (empty) folders, you could have all mine for a start.
Obviously I have some routes you don't and vice versa.
It was creating all the empty directories that took a long time.
If you know of a way, and you want them, let me know.
(I've tried Dropbox but that doesn't seem to want folders, only files).

I should have said I also keep a folder with ALL the (empty) Routes headers in.
When Steam updates I shove all the updates into there and they sort themselves out :-)
Then I move them back into their respective route folders.
