I don't know what this incompatibility means - not able to drive in MU with other EL locos? Not compatible with driving trailers?

But in my opinion as consumer, it is still a step forward that more advanced locos will be coming to Steam, vR stuff in particular as I quite like most vR products despite some minor quibbles :-)

Cheers,

The real 1044 locos did not have the equipment to be controlled from a driving trailer - that only came when rebuilt to 1144.

Thanks for replying to explain what you meant Peter
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

Just given it a run from Munich Hbf to Rosenheim and I quite like it tbh, few gripes with certain switch sounds (sifa and pzb ones) and the window handles don't seem to do anything other than move but other than that it's quite a nice locomotive to drive.

It will be interesting to see how people compare it with the RWA version - which IMHO looks better.

I presume you can change the number to something more correct for the design of the loco - ie above 1044 070?

I was just curious on the number change and with nobody replying I though maybe people had given the loco a miss.

The freeware version is very very good because? You mean the wrong desk, the simple scripting and drving behaviour and? Maybe the Steam version is a bit besides the prototypical one. That's because it need to be HUD and GamePad compatible. But has the right desk and complex power/cruise control scripting. It's different. And you can't compare freeware with payware. The freeware version is not ready yet and was build up in a year or so. The payware was build within a few weeks with better results i think.

You look at this SHG 1044 and it has nice evenly sized windows which the real 1044 locs don't have.

The script might be better but the appearance is, IMHO, wrong.

Then you need to merge them together :)
