That link worked fine for me, I think your browser may be a little over zealous.

Hi

I am not sure whether I attempted to install the earlier version of this route extension at some point in the past and deleted it..or it is still on my PC.

However, I have today installed the STEAM Workshop latest version, and tried a free roam run from Haymarket Depot to Carstairs, but the extension to Carstairs doesnt seem to show up '? I can only drive about 1 mile from Haymarket Station in bare scenery before the line ends.

There didnt seem to be any instructions with the new extension, so can anyone tell me what I need to do for the new extension to show up and be driveable, and also if the new extension comes with any scenarios ? Or is it just a route for scenario developers to work on ?

Cheers

This sometimes happens with Bullguard.
Just one more question, it's the link to the player update which is being flagged. Has anybody called that up, w'out problems?

Many thanks to Darren for this route, once part of my regular Edinburgh to/from Glasgow commute (heading out on the early morning HST positioning run - excellent for peace & quiet...).

I noticed that version 5 took a little time to appear on my system. After I'd downloaded through the Workshop, I noticed that RW_Info was still showing the map of the earlier version. It wasn't until I had been online in RW/TS for an hour or so that the new version appeared in the 'Build' list.

I had no problems accessing Darren's site from this thread, or accessing the Workshop entry from Darren's link. (FWIW I use Sophos for protection...)

Kind regards,

Hi
I;ve just installed the latest version ,V5 have run QD drive from Carstairs, but seem to have 2 versions showing the Original Steam, and a DP Ed-Glas showing.

It's really well made route Darren has really worked hard on this one,I can well recommend it,and this coming from some one who really prefers steam era routes.

Just wondering what Emu's to use on it,and what other trains would run between Carstairs and Waverley?

Further to my original posting re the route not showing ...

Can anyone help me ? What am I doing wrong ? I have downloaded and installed the workshop route but where is the extension to Carstairs ? You cant manually install a workshop add on....so what do I do ?

Am I having a "blonde moment" or what ?

Thanks

I had to clear cache and wait a few minutes while browsing the landing page menus for the route to finish updating.

Technically all you've done is subscribed to it, you haven't done any installing. Pedantic and picky maybe, but getting "yer 'ed" around what's going on is the best way to be able to work out what isn't going on.

The route GUID is a2140f35-1846-4c48-b9d4-6ae8bb89888d, so use Windows Explorer to see if a folder with that name appears in your ..\Content\Routes folder.
If it doesn't, then the download/install hasn't completed for some reason; use Windows Explorer's search facility to search for that GUID string focused on your Steam folder. Steam can, and will, stick downloads in odd folders in it's directory structure. You may find a .zip file with the GUID in the name (probably with the prefix "rout_"), then it's simply a case of extracting the contents into your TS installation manually.

Don't forget the route is installed/run as a separate entity to Edinburgh - Glasgow, so in game you won't find it in the default route but under the name "[DPS] Edinburgh to Glasgow - Scenery Extension"

Hi Gary

Ah..I think I see !

Firstly I didnt realise despite its name...the route ISNT an extension of the default Ed-Glas route !

I will follow your instructions when I get home from work tonight, and get back to you.

Thanks as always matey !!

Well, it is and it isn't - the Ed-Glas route was cloned before then working on the extension. So whilst in terms of actual files/folders are different, physically it IS an extension of the default Edin-Glasgow route - just kept separately.

Hi Again Gary

Well I checked the (a2140f35-1846-4c48-b9d4-6ae8bb89888d) folder, which IS installed in the correct place. As usual when you click on it, there are the familiar sub folders inside it.

But what do I do now ? Do I copy the contents of each of those sub folders into the default Edinburgh to Glasgow route folder, overwriting as necessary ? If so, which is the Ed-Glas route folder ?

This is definetly the first time I have had to install a route in this way !

Cheers

No copying needed, you have exactly what Darren provided. His work copies the default route, adds to that copy, and shows in the menu as a separate route. Look for the prefix [DPS]
