Although the landscape obviously didn't change very much since the 1990s, track infrastructure, the stations and their surroundings are extremely boring today and create an almost depressive atmosphere at some places - especially at Chemnitz. The reconstruction of the station hall itself and the integration of the tram station into the western part of the hall is a rather successful urbanistic and architectonical approach. But the rest - innumerable ruins, few remaining tracks... All that maybe not very desirable to see in the simulated world.
Many of our german simulation colleagues seem to be quite masochistic - they have to see all this misery in real life every day and still like to recreate it in the simulator
German route builders tend to waste their precious time in creating modern era routes, DTG does the same. We have some of them right now, and most of them are rather boring in an operational sense...
