I think from complete brake application the brakes should release slowly. Have fun stopping well short of using full brakes - all part of the challenge.

Agree with earlier post in that fireman is much better than that for Clan where I have to keep going back to auto fireman to keep pressure up.

IIRC I think it depends on the train length with regard to brake release (when using Vacuum locos),but not entirely sure. Have you turned both Small and Large Ejector's on? (J and U respectively)

This is I think the first loco where I really have to use the large ejectors to have acceptable brake release times - small ejector is really small and slow!
Which is probably as it should be, since releasing brakes is kinda the purpose of the large ejector! ;)

I didn't actually check the manual yet on this loco so forgot the keybinding for it. Thanks ;)

According to the manual you do not need to do this in simple mode, which was the question posed.

Likewise with the reverser lock.

Hi

Is there a bug in the lamp setup, I always seem to have 3 lamps showing on the tender. If I setup for any config, it shows correctly on the loco, but the tender always shows 2 lower lamps.

Chris Barnes will know more than me,but I trust you have tried pressing the relevant lamp buttons (CTRL,1,2,3 and 8?),if so it's probably worth sending a support request to JT,detailing also which loco it was and whether it was Simple or Advanced mode. :)

Yes as I said the ctrl keys work ok on the loco, it's running in advanced mode. Perhaps Chris will see on here what I have mentioned.
Could you try it and see what you get, say for light engine on the tender.

I've noticed a small problem when using the ActivFireman, he doesn't like turning off the water feed for the injectors or using them until you can just about see the water in the bottom nut of the gauge glass. :D

Doesn't detract from what a fantastic loco this is though.

Strange, I have replaced the loco and tender again in the same place, I dosnot happen now and it's ok.

That's odd :-)

H'mm,if it happens again then please do send a support request in,it may be something to do with the scenario editor. I assume you are using the same tender?

I have used 70013+70013 tender in the last few minutes and it appeared fine to me.

Ok, will do if it happens again.

Is anyone having issues with rolling starts and the brakes being applied?

I've just set one up and after setting up the rolling start, with the loco in motion, brakes fully released with large ejector closed and small ejector open a touch. But when I exit and restart the run, the loco starts at the speed I set, but immediatly slowing, the HUD (F5) shows the brakes are released at 21in, but jumping into the cab the brake needle is down at 5inch's and rising (the ejectors were set as I'd left them).

Also having issues with the cab windows and what looks like corrupt textures.

the only thing I have found so far is the light for the speedo doesn't work when I turn it on using the switch under the fireman seat, other than that all seems to work well for me.

I seem to remember this being an issue with the Clan as well. If you change view to cab and then back to lineside again, does it clear the problem?

Is there anyone else having an issue actually buying this?

I have bought several models from JustTrains in the past, all with no problems at all, in fact extremely efficient.

Having looked forward to the Britannia for the best part of a year, I was straight onto the site when I received notification of its release, and went through the ordering procedure like the proverbial dose of salts .... only for my card to be rejected (the self same card had been used on JustTrains for a long, long time! And the card never ever has an issue with hundreds of online purchases, most very significantly higher-priced than a virtual steam engine).

After three attempts, getting ever more careful about entering the numbers, I contacted customer services who informed me that they have a new firm providing authentication, with new methods. Well, the new methods appear to be to stop the customer and the retailer accomplishing the simple matter of buying the product! The assistant gave me the same advice as is on the JustTrains website .... "Contact your bank to see if they can help solve the issue." Whoa there! If I can't buy a product because your verifying partner can't do what similar businesses do every day a billion times, then the problem is all yours JT!
