Have some patience

The Right Away message is timed to appear around 2 minutes after the scenario starts,as per the opening message.
Yes. I saw the message. I waited. And waited. And waited. No right away, even after waiting for several minutes after that messages.

So, seeing that I was standing quite close to the signal, I decided to set back the train a little bit. And presto, the signal turned green.

I restarted the scenario, this time I instantly set back the train, and the signal instantly turned green. Waited for the message of course, still got a yellow signal in the gasworks tunnel, followed by a red which turned green just as I approached it.

But I had to move the train back just a little bit or the signal wouldn't turn green at all, not even after waiting for that message.

Cheers,

The message advises you to press TAB if the signal is red,the message (at 07:38) is the right away one.

I somehow overlooked that in the message, but I did try that, and nothing happened. I got permission to leave after pressing ctrl+tab but somehow that didn't feel right to me and did nothing to the signals.

It doesn't do anything to the signals. I am sending a fix to JT which will go out at some point in the near future (not sure when),presumably the signal track point is too far back meaning trains have to be set well back from it.

That was exactly my conclusion regarding the signal track point, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks,

PS: No hurry to get a fix out for this one. It's absolutely not game-breaking or anything, just wanted to notify of it.

PS2: Some German shunt signals and permissive block signals seem to change aspect when pressing tab gives permission to pass the signal. About the UK signals used on ECML-South I don't know however how they are supposed to behave in response to the TAB key, whether they are supposed to change the aspect shown or not.

Hi all, anyone else having an issue with the switcher utility? I click on it but nowt happens - I can see it is in the task manager but no pop up window to change from advanced to simple - I've sent a report to JT on this but wondered if anyone else had the same issue?

I'm not using the switcher utility, as I'm perfectly happy to let the auto fireman do his job of firing while I focus on the job of driving!

No help of course but perhaps if you try the auto fireman you will be ok driving the advanced version as well?

Just an idea.

I love the auto fireman on the last two advanced steam engines from JT. He really does a great job, and makes my life so much easier. :) No more boiler explosions or priming!

I have an issue with the coaching stock that's supposed to come with the download, there isn't any. I have just checked the folder structure, the engine is in a folder called steamdevs which is in the assets folder, but no coaching stock to be seen, there isn't even a Just trains folder. This is on a clean install of TS2016, others may not notice this if they have previously installed other Just Train products that include the MK1 coaches. I have reported the issue to Just Trains and await a reply.

The fireman seems to be able to keep up with the Brit, struggle to steam in the past with the Clan and 5MT, ad had to disable him to keep speed and pressure up.
Really enjoying this so far, had a quick fly over Shap Southbound, didn't drop below 70 with a load of 8 although it was the easier 1 in 125 gradient.

Had a number of memory dumps in QD on the Western Mainlines route, not sure if that's client side or just because of the detail of model and route

I'm not getting any "chuffs". I get the wheel noises and the rod clanks okay and a very loud cylinder c o c k s sound, but no chuffs. I've clearing the cache and tried both advanced and simple modes but no luck.

Any ideas?

David.

I had this exact problem, is this when you are in simple mode? Mine works fine in advanced, everything works and all sounds play as they should.

But simple mode, I like you get no chuffs.

Here's a quick photo of 70013 'Oliver Cromwell' on test with support coach between Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
Well worth a purchase from JustTrains, it's a great bit of DLC which will come in very handy for creating some railtour scenarios.

Sorry about this, guys, it is a scripting omission in the simple script. A hotfix has been prepared this evening, following a few reports of some minor bugs, and it will address this issue tomorrow all being well.

Kind regards,
Chris

So far I've only got one problem with the Britannia pack. I can't get any of the non preserved brits to switch to simple mode, tried the switcher program several times and only 70000 and 70013 will use simple mode. :-?

Somethings not right and I don't think it's anything I've done.

I had used the switcher to change to Simple mode but I've now run the swithcher two or three times to try to put it back into Advanced mode.

I get completely different behaviour by the locos in the scenarios.

In Cathedrals Express Parts 1 and 2 I get a quick brake release (without the J key), no regulator lock and no chuffs.

In S & D Brit I get a verrrrrry slow brake release using the J key, a regulator lock released with the E key and chuffs.

David.
