Well they wouldn't have known when they started it (months ago probably) that JT were covering the same route.

The word "if" in your post is the one at issue - how do we know yet whether any branch lines are planned (i.e. Welsh valleys, etc). I do find it fascinating when people make assumptions about works in progress, called them facts, then comment as if they really are facts.

I personally find you in some instances quite rude, Ash. Mark is not saying for a fact that there is no extras, he (I believe) wanted it to be read as if he was saying "If no extra lines/branch lines are included, then it would be 38miles.." not as fact, but he's saying if it did not. You were far too quick to jump down and stamp shut his point. I agree on your point, we do not know what will be included, but you were so quick to shut him down. It could be a nice route, and if any extra branches were included, then great, but if not, then there is no obligation for him/us to buy it.

No assumption was made. We are all entitled to out own opinion, or at least, I thought we were...........

We all know they don't specialize big routes, however that's not to say it is Bristol to Cardiff DIRECT.

I'd like to think that it is either Bristol to Cardiff via Gloucester (which would be amazing) or both the Severn Tunnel and Gloucester routes. I'd buy it then, if it was direct only then I'd just stick with JT's offerings, I'm sure the 175 will come separate as well

Indeed, most developers keep their cards close to their chest but will have more than a passing interest to try and find out what their competitors are planning. Normal business practice.

I didn't think his comment was rude rather telling the truth. Far to much speculation and assumption goes on in here with any WIP topic from people who see my I think they know it all when in actual fact they know nothing and 9/10 there assumptions are wrong and wonder why arguments starts. Let's wait and see from the horses mouth so to speak what the route is and how far it goes before commenting. I am are dtg with post a update on Facebook or there website shortly with all the true facts. And before you accuse me of being rude I am not I am merely stating facts

I do wonder if the class 175 will have recycled sounds, we know DTG are not good at providing actual sounds from the actual train not sure is AP are gonna do a class 175 sound pack

That doesn't extend to user produced content though; JT have a history of picking up/supporting the "amateur" builders when a project is well on the way, and long may they continue to do so.

True but then they would use this information to go one better and get the new of their version in first. I doubt very much in this case each would have known about the others plans.

I have no doubt this will be a well made route but I am interested to see how they sell the 175 with it and how they will author the scenarios, I still think it is an odd route choice for this traction. I wonder if we will get a ATW 143 and 158 with it.

Personally again it's to short,it should have gone from Bristol - Swansea at least,and also backdated to the 1970's much more traffic then than to days modern railway coal traffic,steel,even rail load freight.,big freight yards like Seven Tunnel,Cardiff Canton had a large selection of locomotives,also Bristol Bath Rd and St Philips Marsh.

I second that I am only interested in the Class 175 as the Just Trains route in my opinion will probably be much better although I also agree with "mrant1981" and I wouldn't be too surprised if the Class 175 doesn't have sounds too familiar to the Class 180 seeing as they are both part of the Alstom Coradia 1000 family.

I have a feeling DTG will recycle the Cummins QSK19/Class 180. The real 175s are equipped with a 450hp Cummins N14 straight six, but i have seen a video on YouTube that they sound different from the 180s.
