Re: Black Forest Route announced
Those screenies from Transportsteve show the work of a not so talented 12 year old. I would not expect to see this type of work these days, not even at this price.
This is unbelievable.
Normally i do not give my opinion about something I did not buy, just find my own way in buying/not buying and accepting what others tell.
This time I had to write about my 'sentiment'.

Re: Black Forest Route announced
Well Ive just rerun the route and I have nothing missing, the tram tracks a Freiburg have the over head masts showing, all the scenery as far as Nuestadt is all there, makes me wonder what setting that Transport Steve is using,as far as I can see it's definitely better than what a 12 year old can do.
And any way the Germans always complain about any German route DTG makes so that's nothing new, seems once again the usual DTG knockers are at it again.,the trouble is I haven't got a 150 minutes to run the whole route
Mike

Getting things right,,the blank lands are not part of the advertised route,,they are parts that have not been done, and for some reason have been left in the route,,you have scenic route from Hausach to Freiberg as said in the DLC, 149Km,,so showing the pics was wrong as it looks as if its part of the route,,ITS NOT.

According to steam database this contains the BR145 DLC. Dont get why that DLC wasn't added in to Hamburg-Lübeck where a separate version was added, also to the Class 70 in Bristol-Cardiff.

£10 for a less than 50 km route with old 2007 Kuju assets written all over it? No thanks.
Can someone describe the route map? The only thing worse would be if the route was linear.

Re: Black Forest Route announced
True the blank areas are not representative of the main part of the route, so a bit misleading. This route was not created by DTG, they simply added a little scenery, Rail Magic are the route creators. If you want correctly functioning PZB and prototypical signalling then you will certainly be disapointed, if you like things a little simpler then you may be happier. Personally I will wait for the RWB version, the screenshots are stunning and it will certainly be worth whatever it's price is, but each to his own. In this instance many of the Germans complaining are people who don't normally do so, so no not the normal DTG knockers. If you are happy with what you get then all power to your elbow.

You could Read the manual if you wish - route map in the back - link on the product pagek3v1n989a813 wrote:£10 for a less than 50 km route with old 2007 Kuju assets written all over it? No thanks.

or http://store.steampowered.com/manual/376936
Also to correct some errors
The route has Hausach - Donaueschingen 65Km, Freiburg - Donaueschingen 74 km & Tittisee - Seebrugg 19 km.
Not sure where you get 50km?

It's because it says "48km route from Freiburg to Hausach" on the Steam store.749006 wrote:Not sure where you get 50km?

Re: Black Forest Route announced
Hi
I've just spent the last 4 hours running the route, and have not had any of the problems Transport Steve had,and it really a challenge to keep to the speed limit on the down hill sections.
I will probably switch some of the locomotives for Vr ones and the coaches, but for me due to having a stroke I find these type of routes better than the advanced routes, and at £10.00 still worth the money
You can also run from Sankt Georgen to Frieburg

Re: Black Forest Route announced
Hi Mike, can you post some screenshots of the tram area as I want to compare them with the ones TransportSteve provided? That'd be great, thanks.
Re: Black Forest Route announced
My initial thoughts...
I think this is quite a reasonable ten quid's worth.
It differs in detail from the earlier version but has essentially the same 630km of track (according to RW_Info...) as shown in the manual (which IS the original one). It comes with 16 scenarios (not necessarily the ones in the manual?). The scenery may not be absolutely up to top-notch 2016 standards but it seems quite acceptable at this price.
No assets were flagged as missing by RW_Tools. Catenary and track both seem to be where they should be. Hills are not white.
The new version does NOT overwrite the original; it has a separate folder, \Content\Routes\e47df41b-789e-46a2-ab27-7286545811f3.
Kind regards,
John M

Sorry
Mike
You make screenshots with ctrl-s, or F12.
When you exit the simulator, Steam will show you a window with small thumbnails of these screenshots, and you can choose which ones to upload to the Steam website or look at the files in windows file manager.
So far the easy bit.
From your profile page on the steam website you can then copy paste links to those pictures into a post on UKTS. I'm not sure however, how I can best explain to you how you'd get to the uploaded screenshots.
Sorry to not be more helpful this time!
