Will this route run via the Rivera Line or does it branch of? If my memory serves me correctly I think it doesn't as it branches of somewhere and the Rivera Line goes in another direction, I'm not sure though. Would be cool to do HST runs from Paddington to Cardiff
I think a railway map is required.
This route runs to Exeter - the Rivera line starts at Exeter.

Also the Class 175 normally runs on the 15 miles from Newport to Cardiff.

Exactly what I thought.

I just wish people would stop posting vague wishy washy personal opinions along such lines . . .
- not for me, too long
- not for me, too short
- not for me, don't like US routes
- not for me, don't like suburban routes
- not for me, I want lots of stations and shunting opportunities
- not for me, I don't like shunting scenarios

Who the hell cares? Buy it or don't buy it. Everyone will make their own mind up

And there are a handful (no names) who rarely post anything positive, but constantly find something to whine about however trivial or irrelevant . . . yet never make any useful contribution to calls for help and assistance.

Almost as frustrating as the US Presidential campaigns over here . . . .

. . done . . (drops the mic)

And before someone says save it and return to it I know you can do that but that has been proven to cause problems in the past with AI etc etc. Think I will pass on this one the dtg edition will get my vote This dies look good though but at I resent a 180 minute drive is to much for me
What you've described there is heaven for me and this one route alone will bring me back to playing this sim, the short routes dtg keep pushing out are on the majority no good at all for scenarios using my favourite locomotive which is the class 43 hst. I can't wait for this beauty to be released, this route gets my vote hands down over the up and coming dtg route your referring to.

Certainly a sense of doing a long shift when you get to the end of one of these mammoth trips.

I apologize that i was the catalyst for this thread degenerating into fairytale mode.

Or I take credit for it, though I say so myself.

Not for me, though, I don't like fairytales.

I think the reason people get their knickers in a twist about the length of the route is that they can't get a sense of fulfilment with their short attention span, this one is for hardcore simmers not the toe dippers.

......and of course, just because a route is 100+ miles long it doesn't mean that every scenario written for it has to traverse every one of those miles.

Some of the scenarios are much shorter. Shunting at Avonmouth and then a short run. Trips up Severn Beach branch etc. So much scope on a route like this for anything
