Just wonder how long until certain people who always shout the usual "AP sound pack" appear and ignore the fact dtg are using actual sounds. Yet no doubt they will still be able to find fault and say AP would record better sounds even if used the same loco
I remember that DTG also recorded real sounds for their class 45, which leaves a lot to be desired as to the real sound of a Peak, so we might need AP to help with the sound, but on the plus side there class 70 is quite good though so maybe DTG are better doing sounds for modern traction.

Who knows guess we will just need to wait and see as usual though I am sure people will find something to moan about after all it wouldn't be train sim otherwise lol

I believe the sounds for the Class 70 were by Oovee, so don't get your hopes up. :(

That's an interesting way of reading it, nowhere does Ross make any criticism of AP or their sound pack products.

Wonder why several posters have it in for DTG?

Ross wasn't making any criticism of AP.

With the greatest respects Ross I think you should have just left your comment at "Glad dtg contacted chiltern to record actual class 68 sounds for this it will be epic".
The rest unfortunately invites you in for criticism and grave misinterpretation. I'm sure you mean well but as in the AP 205 thread it's not worded in the clearest way.

This is just childish. Someone supports DTG and they get called a AP basher. It should not matter which company you prefer AP or DTG it should be about enjoying the game. The way I look at it is both AP and DTG aim for different markets. AP is aiming for the true train fan who wants the all extras. DTG has to cater for the casual player who just wants to jump in and go aswell as the true train fans.

I agree, I am more than happy with the DTG/RSC stuff I have bought from them they look and sound Ok to me, and if I wanted the extras I know AP are there to provide them if I so wish.

Ok let's just get this clear

At what point did I have it in for AP???????

I said I wonder how long it will be before someone mentions "AP sound pack". As let's face it how long after a post appears monetising new dlc and without hearing it even before its been released people automatically get on the "sounds are terrible defence". It was ment in good humour as it clearly states in the article there recorded sounds from a real chiltern 68. So was in good humour at how people will just see "class 68 coming soon" and not nother reading the article to get all the information. We have all done it in the past so was ment as good humour. So please do nkt start accusations. To all those who jumped to my defence who read my post as it was ment ie in good humour. Thank you

Am I right in thinking that the Scotrail trains have a 68 at each end, but are not through-wired, so the rear loco is idle / dead?

Not sure, video's I've seen is of Fife Circle diagrams with just a 68 on one end, not much need for one on the back when it's doing a loop I suppose
