Hmm, this looks good, but I wonder why there hasn't been much updates on it...... Would you think it would be released with more than one livery?

Does not matter what pulls it just how fast the wagons can go.
Although in a training scenario for the Class 87 that comes with WCML over Shap it says accelerate your train (of 4 wheel tanks) up to 80mph :o

I know that... my point is that with 3800 hp there might actually be a risk of hauling 2000 tonnes too fast!

Only in the same way as going too fast with any other train - the driver drives to the speed limits - simples.

The point of a variable throttle control is to avoid that. How do you think drivers coped with 1000 tonne intermodal trains and a pair of Class 87s pushing out a constant 10,000HP?? Thats where the skill of the driver comes in.

Yes, that's my point, that here we have a loco where you will need some care and skill to keep to the appropriate limits - but is anyone actually going to answer my question about what the limit is for loaded IOAs... ?

From bit's of information I think the maximum speed is either 50 or 60 mph - none of the pictures indicate a maximum speed.

Mountsorrel usually runs with 16 to 21 wagons. More often than not it's 18 (certainly was today).
60mph there empty and 60mph back loaded.

Should be a half decent runner from Lichfield to Stafford on Thomson/Keith's WCML Trent Valley!
