116,6 mB TS2016 update today

Post by black8 »

I got a 116,6 mB TS2016 update today. Apart from updates to the 14XX, 56XX, FEF-3 + Overland skin and route Riviera in the 50's it made changes to routes I cannot identify though the 'build' list in the sim, the RW Tools editor or TS Utilities Localisation.

Routeid's start wth:

00000055........
2e419844........
93f07d4c........
5a9ff10c........
3e70bff5........

Does anybody know exactly what was updated and what these routes are?

Thanks, Jos

Can't say what the updates are but NameMyRoute.exe in your TS2016 root will show the names of the routes

Thanks Sean, I never knew I had this. Makes it a lot easier to identify the routes. The ones that I have listed in the earlier post are missing a RouteProperties.xml :o so are still not named though. Don't know why this is, but at least I know why they are not lised.

.Taken from Steam in the announcments from DTG.

Union Pacific FEF-3 Update released
14 January - DTG_James
Today we have released a patch for the Union Pacific FEF-3 and FEF-3 Overland Add-on Livery

The changelist is as follows:

Correction of some errors associated with the air pump:
a). The sound was missing from the air compressors in the Advanced version.
b). The bell, sanders and sludge removers weren't using main reservoir air.
c). The air compressors in the Advanced version were recharging the main reservoir too quickly (much faster than in the HUD version).

The brake handle positions are no longer reported (in the top-right-hand of the screen) when the brake difficulty is set to "Hard".

The embossed "844" shield on the floor of the cab is present only in the default version (black with silver striping, chrome plating and white-walled tyres) when the locomotive number is 844

This update is around 123mb in size and should download automatically through Steam.

Ok good, thanks. Strangely though a had a lot more updated than just the FEF-3 for less MBs.

Will this thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=3257269 help you to identify route numbers?

Yes Tim, sure does. Bedankt!
Funny thing is that the routes I have found on the list so far, and have apparently been 'updated', I do not have :o :o

Thanks Dave for this info. I found out that 5a9ff10c is Ohio Steel 2. Funny thing is that I do not own any of these routes except China Clay but that is the original version, not through Steam. Very strange.

If those routes are contained in .ap archives, just extract the RouteProperties.xml out with RW Tools, 7-Zip or whatever else you use. NameMyRoute.exe will then report them correctly.

Understood Gary. But what to think of the fact that I do not own these routes? Why are they updated in the first place? See above post.

Do the *new* route folders contain just scenarios?
If stock packs you own have been updated and include scenarios for those routes, that would go some way to explaining why you have them.

Absolutely right Gary, good thinking. All these 'routes' folders only contain a scenario folder. That solves the mystery. Thanks!
