Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
Gary, not changed anything, stock or otherwise.
As for going a bit slow - I was ignoring the 15mph restrictions near the start of the scenario
(I think these may be wrong) and I was exceeding (okay! Slap my wrist!) the posted speed
limits by 2-3mph. So no way was I going slow.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
Just finished it, no problems that I'm aware of so the recent update to the route wouldn't seem to be an issue. I have a question though---how do they load the containers onto the wagons at Stratford?

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
Gary:
Work has already started on the cranage site for the inland Freightliner services. This will incorporate two electrically driven Goliath cranes which will span three rail tracks and one loading motor road.
Two larger electric Goliath cranes, designed for six tracks or roads between the crane legs and two additional tracks or roads on either side under the crane cantilevers, will then be installed in parallel.
These cranes will be used for both inland and Continental services and will have storage space under them for Continental containers awaiting Customs clearance.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
OK.
I didn't have the version dated 22/5. I downloaded it and ran it. The signal at Camden Rd was stuck on red. I Tabbed it, ignored the "Denied" and carried on my way without problems.
The "Imported Coal to Yourkshire" (wherever that is) is nowhere near - you pass that at around Highbury & Islington I believe. Whilst I will have to look into this a lot further I suggest a couple of changes.
Change the Player Train from "Special" to "Express Freight", and "Imported Coal to Yourkshire" should be renamed ""Imported Coal to Yorkshire" (so that it knows where it is going) and re-classified to "Low Speed Freight".
TAB the Red signal NL1213 and continue through although you don't have permission.
I can't remember what problems I was having to make the Player Train "Special" but that can throw up its own problems.
The Scenario will be unavailable to download until further notice.

Not "Driver Error" then? That's good to know.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
No Derailment anywhere for me. Unless you stopped at the signal for about 4 or 5 minutes (hoping it would change), I don't know what the "Imported Coal to Yourkshire" is doing. If you were running late then the "Imported Coal to Yourkshire" may have the road, causing any derailment.davep wrote:Not "Driver Error" then? That's good to know.
The only way to see if it a fault in the route is to create a scenario written for this version and see if it replicates.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
Didn't stop...The signal at the eastern end of Camden Road station was YELLOW, so I passed it.
Then I got an AWS clear bell, even though the next signal I could see was RED.
But before I got to it, I derailed on the (trailing) crossover.

I don't understand that at all. AWS was Alarm, no derailment and no "Imported Coal to Yourkshire" in sight.davep wrote:Didn't stop...The signal at the eastern end of Camden Road station was YELLOW, so I passed it.

I will have a good long look at the scenario and see if I can work out what is going on.
It sounds as if something has changed in your copy of the scenario, and/or your copy of the route.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
Going by the foregoing comments, I tried the 'Scrap' scenario. It crashed upon loading.
So I re-downloaded V2 of the route (I hadn't obviously got the Saturday version).
The 'Scrap' scenario now loaded - so I quit that and loaded up the Stratford containers one.
All good this time, except for the fact that if you (CeeGee) hadn't said about passing the
red just after Camden Road, I guess I'd still be sitting there. [I mean, if you were a REAL
train driver, stopped at a red, phoned the bobby and he said wait, you'd wait until the signal
cleared, right? Not get 'fed up' and pass it at red (that really would be instant dismissal)].
Still slight signalling problems down at Stratford though. Turning off the NLL into Stratford
you don't get the feather. Otherwise, the scenario played out nicely. And I made the darts match -
AND WON !!!
Thanks Gary and CeeGee for taking the time to help me sort my problem out.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
Thanks for the added instructions CeeGee, made it to the end. I did have to tab through a red NL 1244 too, was denied but went anyway as the map showed no blockage. All went well after that. Thanks.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
It needs somebody to make a new scenario for this latest version of the route and see if the problem at that junction is replicated.
I will be working on trying to get this scenario to work correctly with the new version.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
I will have a look at the Camden Road signals to check if something is incorrectly marked out.
It's possible that the junction may now require some extra ground signals to protect your train from other trains coming off the freight lines at Maiden Lane.
I'm sure there were not any more signals for that junction before as I did a direct "one out, one in" swap when I changed out the newer signals originally, but maybe DTG didn't anticipate people playing scenarios with intense freight traffic.

Re: Return of the Backdated North London Line
I had problems getting the scenario to work in V1 and I know that that junction was one of them.xguerra wrote:... but maybe DTG didn't anticipate people playing scenarios with intense freight traffic.
On looking at this yesterday, by altering the AI freight from Standard Freight to the lower Low Speed Freight helped a lot as far as the ETA arrival time at Stratford was concerned. I still tend to blame my scenario, rather than the changes you have made. It is just unfortunate that the Player train is running 20 minutes late and had been slotted into a smallish space, and the driver was due to finish his shift.
