Trev, and Martin, won't be having problems because they aren't using in-game SSAA. Any in-game anti-aliasing below that has never been affected by the corrupted 2D map issue.

Gary
Plus if you use in the NVidia Control Panel "AA Mode - Override any application setting" then the 2D map is NOT corrupted when you use (any) SSAA settings in TS 2016.
Note the 2D Map in the editor is still "broken", however.

Yeah, because you aren't using 'em even though they may be selected...NCP is effectively negating that option with Override

I've had to give up on trying to get this issue fixed for me. I've got a GTX970, i've been in contact with DTG and Nvidia numerous times, Nvidia have been very helpful in trying to find a remedy for this issue but DTG have been shocking. Literally have spent thousands of pounds on add-ons for this game (Not kidding) and this is the response I had a few days ago - "This issue is caused by the most recent Nvidia drivers on 900 series cards. For assistance with the issue you must contact Nvidia directly. Kind regards"

In August I had this response "This is a known issue with these nVidia drivers. nVidia are aware, and working on a new driver to fix this. At this time, please contact nVidia support and report the issue. The more customers who contact them, the more data they have to diagnose the issue. Regards Neal Short Lead Tester
Dovetail Games.

Well that was in August, it's now January!
I've managed to get Windows 10 to stop updating automatically and currently on a driver from March/April last year. Find it pretty poor that DTG have got no interest in trying to find a solution to this problem. Definitely makes me consider spending my hard earned money elsewhere...

I thought that but it does not seem to affect the SSAA visual setting in TS2016. Trust me :D if I don't use SSAA I get the worst video ever plus if I use a compatible SSAA setting in NVI ie overriding the TS 2016 SSAA setting then the 2D Map displays correctly (but not in the editor).
Its yet another one of those TS20xx idiosyncrasies!

And what's wrong with that? The indications are (and certainly from DTG's point of view) that as the game ran perfectly well before the newer drivers then it makes sense that the drivers are at fault. If DTG did set to and fixed things, what else in the drivers is it liable to break? Of course it could easily be a change in the game that has now meant the drivers are being asked to do something they can't, or even not being asked to do a certain something that's essential, but there's no escaping that until the release of the new drivers there wasn't a problem.
It could be argued that as nVidia provide/support a settings page for TS they should have tested that that particular title still functioned correctly, or at least removed that settings tab.
DTG are notoriously lousy with giving us *real* information, so nobody knows just what's going on in the background; whilst it may appear that they've given up on you it could be that they are working with nVidia to find a cure. Don't forget that they're content producers, not hardware *wizards*, and the helpful wizards at nVidia, whilst being better at dealing with folk still haven't made progress.

As there's very little difference between the *working* drivers and the new ones, just stick with what works...driver updates are rarely mandatory.

Gary is correct there has been no improvement in NVidia drivers wrt TS2016 since the GeForce 347.xx or the 350.xx series (and before that probably).
I choose these 2 drivers as they are last to work with all of the current Windows OS ie 7, 8, 8.1, 8.1 upd 1, and 10.
You can use any SSAA setting with these two drivers and there is NO 2D map corruption either in the SIM or in the Editor.

(Note drivers post 353.xx there is a specific driver for Windows 10 and another driver for Windows OS ie 7, 8, 8.1, 8.1 upd 1). They are no longer interchangeable.

It has to be a NVidia issue - because the 347.xx and 350.xx drivers work with any OS without any 2D map corruption but any driver including and after 353.xx gives a 2D map corruption in TS2016 when you use any SSAA setting in TS2016. MSAA settings in TS 2016 are fine. For that reason it cannot be a RSC/DTG issue.

I contact NVidia every month about the issue but they never deign to reply with anything that could be seen remotely as constructive.

Judging by the official NVidia forums you are not alone. :D
