Aah, that's where I have an advantage Gary, I had some new eyes so as long as I wear them the text is readable.

Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
I actually got that wrong the problem only occurs in the "Timetable" view in the scenario editor and not in the 2d map view.Could be something to do with the grid overlay ,dont know if its possible to switch the grid off ???newbouy wrote:Im using SSAA 3x3 and i only get the 2d map corruption while in the editor mode ,the 2d map is fine when actually running a scenario.
Thanks Newbouy
thanks Newbouy

Yeah, I've gone for a happy medium, 1x2 SSAA and 2.25xDSR, the right combination of looking good and performing well, plus better high-resolution screenshots when needed.davep wrote:I had to stop using DSR because I couldn't read things.

Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
Reading all this here and being not as tekkie as you lot. Where does one go to adjust these settings? The only setting I know is the one in the Control area of TS2016 which I have set too FXAA+ 8xMSAA. Are there others to adjust etc? I just feel like having a play and see if I can get anything better than I already have.

nVidia control panel, global settings gets you access to DSR and settings for all games, or you can set individual settings in game settings for TS only.Ajay1 wrote:Reading all this here and being not as tekkie as you lot. Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
Just right click on your desktop and a menu should pop up with Nvidia Control Panel in it, just click on it to open.

Just some thoughts on DSR:
DSR is just another variation of SSAA rendered differently to the native SSAA in TS20xx.
Its worth noting that DSR usually only works with monitors that have a resolution of 1080p or less.
DSR just does not work on my 1440p monitor - the inbuilt SSAA is much superior.
TS20xx has native support for SSAA so DSR may not give a much better result overall.
TS20xx may use a technique called deferred shading/rendering and again DSR may not work in some situations.
To use DSR effectively use only MSAA settings (or none) in TS20xx - less strain on resources.
Its all down to trail and error!

Excuse me for being a little ignorant here, but is that choosing from, once the Nvidia Control panel is open : Select a Task (on left hand side) ' Manage 3D settings -Global settings -DSR factors (which at the moment is off) ? turn in on as well as DSR smoothness ?Trev123 wrote:Just right click on your desktop and a menu should pop up with Nvidia Control Panel in it, just click on it to open.

Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
Experiment with the DSR settings, some have it a 4 which I have and smoothness at 33%.

Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
Thanks very much Trevor, have just been comparing your settings against mine, noticeably I have not as yet turned on DSR so will do so and play around adjusting the other settings as well and see what difference it makes. One final question. I have never adjusted any settings within the Nvidia control panel, especially 3D settings in all the time since using Nvidia other than to set screen display and resolution and off course update the drivers, opting to use the default settings as first installed. If I want to revert back to my original settings would pressing "Restore" facilitate this without changing any other settings made to the control panel ?

Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
I would say that restore would put everything you have changed in the control panel back to default settings. That's my understanding of it having not done a restore.

Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
Rather than change the global values do it on a per program basis. The control panel already supports Railways.exe so just change the values for that. If any don't work you just reverse the changes by setting them back to the "use global value" setting.

Re: Latest Nvidia drivers.
There is a new 361-60 version out now. Not yet certified by MS so you might get a security warning when you install it. I'm using it with no problems. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topi ... er-361-60/

I prefer to wait for the WHQL version.
