It's a shame we don't have a backdated Brighton Main Line to go with it. Not a fan of running older by-gone units on clearly modern routes. Much as I love the modern image routes. Just don't like mixing eras unless I can convince myself it's a charter which I don't think I can with these.

Gatwick Express operated 73s until 2005, it's not too much of a stretch to have them on the route as it's sold now.

What would you change on a back-dated route?
The station Nameboards would have to change but the main trackwork is not much different to the that in the game.
And the Class 73's operated the Gatwick express to 2004-5.

It would be interesting to see a picture in late Slam Door days to that of today and compare the difference.

It's a fair point. I suppose it's all the Southern branding on the stations that might make it a bit unrealistic in my eyes. Didn't realize though that they'd run up to 2004-05.

If you count NSE as late slam door, then East Croydon and parts of Clapham junction have changed significantly, although not so much to the track layouts.

I can think of at least 4 routes you could run them on depending what liveries are made,Faversham GBRf infrastructure 73 London Brighton both Gatwick Express and GBRf Infrastructure,Southampton - Weymouth Green & Blue class 73 and SWT Thunderbird 73,Edinburgh-Glasgow and West Highland Caladonian Express Sleeper trains.

What we now really need is a 4 REP and a 4TC to go with the 73,although basically we have 4 REP's as the class 442 were built on 4 REP chassis and used the traction motors from the 4 REP

But crucially the body of the class 442 is of a class 442, not a Mk1-based unit.
Using a 4CIG and a 4BIG would be closer to achieving the 4REP 4TC pairing.

The Mk3 coaching stock based 442s only used the traction equipment from the REPs, not the under frame. Plus a 442 only has half the power of a REP which had two powered vehicles per set.

As has been said I hope if this is a rework of a previously released model the I hope the minor issues are fixed, like the cab controls. What would be very nice but I'm not too sure that it will be implemented is changeable blinds, selectable brakes (EP & Auto), authentic power controller operation and series/parallel selection and engine start up routine.

The class 73 is one of my most favourite locomotives and am very pleased it will be coming to the sim (again) as I had he previous version and it was a bit of a let down for me but won't get into that.

I couldn't remember if you could or not as I had it on an old setup that I lost when my hard drive failed. I remember the power handles faced the wrong way (when they were meant to be off they were on the full power position and vice versa) and there was a problem with the brakes too if I remember correctly but I didn't have it that long to remember and then it became unavailable.

I give up ,even a thicko like me knows the 5 WES had new Mk3 based bodies, and just used
the REP Traction motors,we still do need a 4 REP though ,the nearest to a REP would be a 4BEP(buffet electro pneumatic)REP (restaurant electro pneumatic).
