Activity score screen report

Post by petermargetts »

I have noticed recently that instead of wording and numbers on the final report I am seeing strange dashes and dots. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this and how to get matters back to normal. Screen is as below.
I have done a verify local cache but with no success.

I get this too but haven't found a cause or a solution.

From what I've read it's experienced by those who had TS2015 and received the new GUI for TS2016 for free, but have not paid for the 2016 content. So your choices are to rollback if you have a back-up file or to pay for the 2016 content; or just suffer what you're experiencing of course

Thanks for this explanation. I think I will just have to live with the situation as this seems to be the only thing that is amiss since the free upgrade from TS2015.And in my case going right back to Railworks 2.

Which is way more than worth it just for the Riviera Line 1950's alone!

Or raise a ticket with DTG and ask them how to fix it.

I've had this before.
The fix is to copy over a clean version of the 'font' folder to the 'data' directory.
If you don't have a copy delete it and let Steam re-install it.
I think this happened to me with the free upgrade to TS2016.

And a Happy new Year to you too!
Glad it's working.
Always puzzled me why the verify cache didn't work.
The loading splash screen had a similar problem, which had to be fixed.

Derek, Have you solved it? If you don't have a back up it's more tricky.

Hi Timex

My friend and I had a go at renaming the font folder on his PC yesterday, as he has the same problem as I have.

We renamed the folder to something like "fonting", then we rebooted Trainsim up, and ran a test career scenario, but the problem still exists.

Can anyone explain what they mean by stating, "if you remove the faulty font folder altogether, then Trainsim will replace it for you when it realises its missing "

Unfortunatley the option of having a back up containing the working font folder isnt of use to me. I have done 38 backups of the Railworks folder since I got the game in the first place. But I only keep the last TWO backups, and delete older ones as I create a newer one ! And as this problem started occurring during the last uprgrade from TS2015 to TS2016 last year, I dont have a working font folder on my system anymore ! Doh !

Can you help any further ?

Thanks

Derek
