Glencoe v1-5
I have finally got round to being able to install this route and I am now finding myself seeking some answers to , and assets etc:
Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class47\47484 GWR Green\Engine\class47_ICS.bin
SHG\OTAWagonPack02\RailVehicles\Freight\OTA_A\Default\OTA_RF.bin
SHG\OTAWagonPack02\RailVehicles\Freight\OTA_A\Default\OTA_RF_w.bin
SHG\OTAWagonPack02\RailVehicles\Freight\OTA_A\Default\OTA_RF_w2.bin
I have the SHG\OTAWagonpack01.ap installed, so I'm assuming the Pack02 is a Marketplace product ? which I had a look in but could not recognize anything.I'm not sure where I acquired the Pack01 from either.
Developer\product\glencoe.bin
Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\TrackRules\Glencoe_TrackRules_all track - Backup.bin
Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\TrackRules\Glencoe_TrackRules_all track.bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\flowerpot1 (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\garlic_small (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\grass_small (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\hedge3 (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\hortensia_medium (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\parktree1 (2).bin

SAD\Foliage_Pack1\roses_large (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\roses_small _2 (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\roses_tree (2).
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\weeds_thistles_large - kopie (2).bin
SAD\Foliage_Pack1\weeds_thistles_large (2).bin
Now again,I have the SAD\Foliage_Pack1 also installed but when looking into it's folder, they are all listed minus the (2) which is as shown here. (they may have been put there during the development stage and forgotten to be removed when finally uploaded)
If someone could please advise how to edit the Properties.bin file with RWTools so I could amend to point to correct file, I would be most grateful.
Antony.

Re: Glencoe v1-5
Do you have the Altenberg Wildau Route installed as scenery from that is needed.
Quote from the author." SAD- Altenberg Wildau Route
http://rail-sim.de/forum/wsif/index.php ... or-TS2012/
Click Herunterladen to download.
This is one of the best freeware routes available and hosted on the Railsim-DE website.
SAD makes some amazing assets which I have used extensively in the route.
Optional Install
Freedrive Locos
For the Freedrive locos and most scenarios you will need to download all the rolling stock packs off the UKtrainsim website.
Most are reskins of the Classic European Loco and Asset Pack."

All the assets with (2) in the name are copies, indicating the author has *messy* installation of SAD's foliage pack. Just swap them out with RW Tools for the files you have. The 'kopie' file is also a copy, so that can be similarly dealt with.

Yes thanks Gary, the only problem is that I can't quite remember how it's done with RWTools. I did have how to do it written down somewhere, but where ?

Re: Glencoe v1-5
In the menu bar is the "Route building tools" (or something similar, not at a PC so working from memory )
In there is the routine to check routes. Once that's run and you've clicked the "Remove dictates from list" button you can select any item shown as missing and swap it for the one you have.

Not being at work...
In Gary's post, 'dictates' should read 'duplicates'. (But you knew that...)
The 'OTA2' stock is in the Marketplace 'BR Railfreight-liveried OTA' pack.
Kind regards,
John M

Re: Glencoe v1-5
Thanks again, but unfortunately my minds drawn a complete blank (must be all that drink) on which RWTools menu file I should be first opening on the top, then where I should be looking next so that I can remove the offending (2),s and the kopie file.
I thought it was the Route Properties.xml I should be editing and fixing but alas not. Also I'm sure it was posted here on the forum somewhere the procedure on how to do this, but I can't seem to find it. As for the OTA pack I'll now go and source this from the Marketplace.
Antony.

Re: Glencoe v1-5
Here you go...
Top menu, choose "route Building Tools" and in the drop down menu "Check Routes or Scenarios"

Click on the route, scroll down the box if it isn't immediately visible, and click the "Check Selected Route" button.

In the window that opens (after a while, it has to run through the route first) click the "Remove duplicates from list" button (left hand one under the main window) and the once that's filtered the list click on the asset reported as missing and click the "Substitute Missing Scenary Item" button (3rd from left under the main window)

In the window that appears, click the button with ... on it

and in the next window, navigate to where the .bin file of the asset you want to use lives, and click on that .bin.
That file's details will appear in the bottom fields of the 'swapping box' so you'll have chance to review what you're about to change and with what. Don't worry that one file will be shown as .xml and the other as .bin, it doesn't matter. When you're happy, just click the 'OK' button.

Job done. You'll just need to do this once per missing asset, no matter how many times that asset is used in the route.
EDIT: For those who don't have SADs Foliage pack in that directory, it's duplicated in the UKTS Foliage Freepack:
Obviously under a totally different directory structure, but the instructions above are still valid.

No, RouteProperties.xml will allow you to edit the Provider/Product pairings (amongst other things) but contains no information about any individual assets.Ajay1 wrote:I thought it was the Route Properties.xml I should be editing

Re: Glencoe v1-5
Hi ajay, I am the author of the route.
Can confirm what the others posters mentioned. SAD obviously allowed some of his assets to be used in the UK train sim folliage pack, you need to install that as they were altenburg wildenrai assets that were renamed to go into the pack.
Yep theOTA wagons are a marketplace item but only required for the Timber to chirk scenario.
I would ignore the other track rules as I mentioned in the route guide I had a number of crashes that corrupted my track rule, those are my backups when I tried to correct them in RWTools. I should have repointed the track bin to the bath templecombe mainline for all track sections. I can upload that Glencoe track rule to the website if anyone is having any problems, it is a clone of the back templecombe mainline 70 track rule.
Apologies but it was my first route, I made plenty of schoolboy errors when I set it up.

Re: Glencoe v1-5
I'm still living with the consequences of the errors I made as a schoolboy.......
dalmahoyhill2, could you check your SAD folder and see if you have the assets duplicated in there?... dead easy to make that *error* (for want of a better word) but as the game will only show duplicates with the same descriptive name once in the available assets listing in the editor, it's very, very hard to spot that you have them. Most times it's only brought to light in cases like thais, when folk start running their downloaded copy of anything through RW Tools.

Re: Glencoe v1-5
Thanks both of you, I have now successfully pointed the SAD foliage files too its correct location, and ignored the missing Trackfiles as suggested . This is the first time I have ever attempted his sort of modification to a scenario or route for that matter, you learn something everyday still(even at my age). After all this I'm still missing :
Developer\product\glencoe.bin Can this be ignored ?
Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class47\47484 GWR Green\Engine\class47_ICS.bin I ran the first scenario which uses this and once loaded I got the could not load RV popup, rightly so as I did not have it. I tried substituting it with something
I do have, then when I loaded it again, after it had finished loading all I got was a black screen and the only way out was Cntl + Alt +Del to bring up the windows Manager and subsequently the desktop which showed a TempDump error. Is this model avail anywhere?
The only other scenario I have tried so far is the second once and this ran OK.
Antony.

Re: Glencoe v1-5
Yes, no and maybe I'm afraid. It all depends what the file is; if it's the route template than it would be important, if it's a .bin file pointing to a markers.csv file then no, unless you need the markers to assist in navigating around the route to write a scenario. Given that you can run the route though, I'd say it's not essential. I'm not the best to be advising on this, as I don't have it to have a peek but I'm sure somebody else will chip in with some more information/advice.Ajay1 wrote:Developer\product\glencoe.bin Can this be ignored ?
Regardless of whether it's available or not, swapping it out shouldn't cause a crash/black screen---unless you've swapped it out for something other than a diesel loco. Best way round that is to junk that copy of the scenario and re-install that single scenario from the download. Dead easy for me to say that of course, bloody hard if you ain't got a clue how, so if you're stuck just askAjay1 wrote:Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class47\47484 GWR Green\Engine\class47_ICS.bin I ran the first scenario which uses this and once loaded I got the could not load RV popup, rightly so as I did not have it. I can't check as I'm not at home, but I have a feeling that reskin is in the UKTS Freepack---just a feeling though, don't take it as gospel---once again somebody else will chip in (useless really, aren't I?
Congratulations on managing it, in the end was it easier or harder than you imagined? Many of us can do this sort of thing as second nature, so we forget that we too had to learn and get a wee bit glib about it when asked and forget that not everybody sees things as we do and tend to gloss over the procedure---or even be 'ultra-glib' and say "yeah, just swap it out"Ajay1 wrote:This is the first time I have ever.......

Apparently the Glencoe.bin file is a road item .
with the Class 47, I have just also tried swapping it for the Marketplace 47484IKB and again when I tried to load all I got was the black screen after it had finished, like before. I hit Esc this time and went back to the desktop and it stated that the Railworks.exe has stopped working. Just to check once again I completely removed that scenario (80's Steam Special) and replaced with the original, this time it loaded and when the scenario appeared I again got the could not load RV popup and not a black screen, just like the very first time I opened it. Very strange, not sure whats happening here.
Just to note I loaded up all the other scenarios and they were all playable.

Re: Glencoe v1-5
I'm guessing (hoping) it's actually a track rule applied to a road, in which case it doesn't matter--you'll find track rules associated with roads and lofts in most routes even though they have absolutely no bearing on those types of assets. A glitch (feature?Ajay1 wrote:Apparently the Glencoe.bin file is a road item
No matter what I've tried with RW Tools the scenario crashed, even dropping in to the game's scenario editor and editing the consist resulted in a crash on loading so this is one to leave for now.Ajay1 wrote:I have just also tried swapping it for the Marketplace 47484IKB and again...
The route does look rather nice, from the very brief look I've had, but is a little let down by the *iffy* asset references, the .bak files and the route template seems to be in a very odd location---RW Tools reports it as being (or at least where the route is looking for it) in ..\Assets\UKTS_FP\Terrain_Textures\TemplateRoutes.
I don't have that particular pack installed, but even if it does include a selection of templates they'd be as examples which can be copied into the more appropriate (and usual) location of ..\Assets\<route author>\<route name>\TemplateRoutes
