Trev
In Nvidia control panel turn Antialising FXAA to on which overrides the TS ones and that eliminates the 2D map corruption. Don't have to do anything else in the settings if you don't want too. I have adjusted the settings to suit my preferences for playing TS2016 and are quite happy with. Don't ask me which ones that I have adjusted as I cannot remember.
Not if you have any SSAA setting in TS 2016.

Think I might of meant Antialiasing mode set to override any application setting. See post here http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... a&start=30

Latest drivers from Nvidia seems to have cured the problem. :)

Doesn't seem resolved to me, using 359.00 & a GTX970

What anti-aliasing setting are you using Martin?

I was getting the same issue as Malky using any SSAA setting in TS 2016.
GTX 750Ti - Win 8.1 2D Map corruption
GTX 960 - Win 7 Pro - Ditto
GTX 970 win 10 - Ditto.

Then something Trev123 said made me think - Thanks :D :D .
So using Nvidia Inspector or NV Control Panel Set the Antialiasing Mode to "override any application setting" and voila the 2D Map corruption is gone when you use any SSAA setting in TS 2016, in all 3 cards as above.

Can someone confirm this in case its idiosyncratic to my setups?

Yes Peter, that little ploy of over-riding application settings works.
Unfortunately for me that means that to get the quality of 2x2 SSAA I need to use DSR, and whilst it's good it does make the text and HUD too small for me to be comfortable with....they give with one hand, take away with the other :(

Still, at least it's another option and another piece in the jigsaw.

Gary
Whilst it says "override" it doesn't appear to override all AA settings per se.
My guess is that the "override" setting "fixes/modifies" something in the SSAA component in TS2016 that causes the 2D Map corruption. But its just a guess! :D
I am still seeing a good image in TS2016 using the 3 x 3 SSAA setting - in fact the image quality does NOT appear to change significantly when I choose "enhance" or "let the application decide" in NVCP or NVI.
I've even used 8 x SGSS in NVI (plus override) and the image quality was not significantly changed.
If you can get a good image this way with reasonable smoothness then IMO it is preferable to DSR.
It certainly fixes the 2D map corruption.

Interesting Peter, wonder what may be happening to prevent the nVidia settings from taking over completely.

Have you noticed any worthwhile improvement by using the latest drivers though?
I've reverted back to 350.12 and in my admittedly brief fling with 359 didn't see anything to make it a 'must have,' so unless there's something with a big 'WOW' factor I'm loathe to change again.

Gary
I have not seen any discernible differences (wrt quality, smoothness, etc) between the latest drivers GeForce 359.00 and the 347.xx and 350.xx for TS2015.
The advantage of using either of those earlier 2 drivers is that you can use the 2D Map with any SSAA setting in TS2016 and you can "enhance" the settings using NVCP or NVI without visual issues.
The advantage of using the latest driver with the "override" setting is that you are using the video-card driver settings rather than TS2015 settings, and that tends to relieve the load and may give a smoother video with higher frame rates (lower/consistent frame dwell times). In theory anyhow! :D

After trying the latest driver I shall now go back to these and use my favourite settings!

I've used Pete's guide for setting up DSR so AA is off in-game.

In which case you wouldn't have the corruption with any of the drivers, it only happens with SSAA applied in-game.

Well it was a bit of a lemony snickets Gary, I'd had this problem with the older drivers and updated them and at the same time tried Pete's instructions, not realising it had to do with the in-game settings so I put two and two together and got 5!

Thanks for the fix Peter, seems to work a treat.

Was always annoying as I run with both DSR and SSAA (for mega detail and it looks great) but because of that I couldn't get rid of the map corruption until now so thanks.
