JT HST NewCastle-Edimburg and AP sounds

Post by JLD95 »

Hi,

I just bought JT NewCastle-Edimburg route. With scenario named "First Train of the day", I don't have AP sounds. (I have three AP packs: MTU, Valenta and VP185)
This scenario uses kuju reskin: Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\JT-HST_East_Coast

but I see others JT reskins: JT-HST_East_Coast_transition, JT-HST_Virgin_East_Coast, JT-HST_Virgin_East_Coast_Full, JT-Virgin

Can you tell me what is the engine type to be associated with these reskins ?

I brought that route yesterday as it was on offer, I just used rw_tools to add the ap mtu pro sounds to all the reskins you listed, they also didn't have the new lighting and lens flare so I added that too.

OK, MTU sounds are correct for all reskins ?

OK, thanks for the link.

I don't see the answer to this question " does anybody have a list of which sounds would be most appropriate/prototypical to which HST livery/date period?"

At the moment, I applied MTU sounds for JT reskins but I don't have cab occlusion and lens flares: how to have cab occlusion for HST ?

Hi

Valenta Engine original Blue\Grey,and Inter City Swallow,

First Great Western and Virgin HST's currently use the MTU engine

Midland Mainline HST's use the Paxman 12VP185

Actually my method above of using rw_tools to apply the mtu sounds to the JT hst reskins didn't work correctly so I used a fool proof method of copying the bin file from the FGW folder and over writing the original bin files and then editing a few lines ( 6 lines in total is all it takes to change) so the file paths match and the correct name is shown in the editor for the reskins.

As for the question the MTU is the correct sound pack to apply.
