That WAS an interesting little bit of information, I must admit ! Over what time-span did that take place ? And are you now in the UK, or still in NZ ? The last time I went to Wellington - drove down, and back, and was getting a ticket for us both, and wanted to go to Lower Hutt, but the ticket-seller told me that station was now closed, but Melling was still open as a terminus, and I should go to Petone, and get a taxi to Lower Hutt, as I needed to go to Postie Plus, to get my money back, from something I'd bought in Auckland, the previous week. Is that bit of info regarding Lower Hutt, to your knowledge ? Just thought I'd mention that to you. Cheers !
