Hi

I Just got the K1 Yesterday and like it very much.

I have a small issue fith the Firedoor running in advanced mode though...

Pressing "F" will open the firedoor, but as soon as I let go of the "F" key the door closes again, thus I cannot stoke with R / Sh+R, since when Ihold down the "F" key and press any other key, the fire dorr closes again.

Simply pressing the firebox icon on the F4 HUD will start stoking, but stoking rate cannot be adjusted with R / Sh-R that way.

Autofireman is Off

Best regards
Finn

Do you have the F4 HUD open? That will do this.

Close theF4 HUD, use just F3.

I do recall having seen this same behaviourabout firebox door not opening on some loco - but don't recall now if that was because of the F4 HUD, or some other cause, nor how I managed to fix it if it wasn't then the F4 HUD...

Running out of water triple heading PRR K4s in the scenario WW2 (PT2) Rushing The Rations (CS) Horse Shoe Curve. Boiler 85% full. Auto fireman off This also happens double heading but is random. I'm in discussions with DTG about this issue at the moment and have sent them the screen shot.

Don't mean to sound daft but I think you may have mixed your k4s up?

(Unless you are showing us a fault with the k4s when double heading?)

An update for the K1 has been released today, which includes the following:
  • - Fixed the twin lower electric lights on the locos and tenders to be correct (one lamp should be white, the other red - not both being able to show red or white)
    - Motion clanking volume increased and active at higher speeds
    - High speed chuffs "beefed up"
    - Shovelling volume decreased
    - Fixed issue with wagons clanking sometimes when "stationary" due to TS internal speed value fluctuating at tiny values
    - Added 3 more scenarios
    - • Peppercorn K1. 6] Bricks Without Straw
    - • Peppercorn K1. 7] April Showers
    - • Peppercorn K1. 8] West Durham Rail Tour

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the update!

Did you also fix the leaking water in non-advanced mode?

(After opening tender water valve of exhause injector, you cannot close it anymore, reported by myself and somebody else - sorry forgot his name).

Looking forward to running the new scenarios,

Great, thanks! :)

(The info on E-D only mentions the extra scenarios, and sounds... Not very informative considering all other things which have been fixed!)

We decided that for E-D the extra scenarios and a quick mention of the sounds were appropriate. Most people probably won't even notice the other changes - they were made off of our own backs from feedback from here and from direct messages to us.
I know you lot care about the nerdy things - as do we

BTW... This issue about wagons clanking when stationary... Is the underlying cause for that also the same cause as why some engines have wheelslip when stationary and regulator closed?

I think sometimes people strive for perfection that was never there in the first place.

A train of loose-couple wagons will clank and bang a bit when a train is stationary. The impact of actions like stopping or attaching an engine will send movements from one end of the train to the other and back again, sometimes several times, as the wagons settle. When preparing to pull away, drivers often pushed back a bit to close up all the wagons (to make starting easier), making yet more clanks and rattles.

In the scenario March Surprise after dropping off the gas tank wagon at the siding, you cannot get clearance (Tab Key) to pass the red shunting signal while backing up to the guards van and get a SPAD game over error.
