But if DTG release them are the textures an easy switch?

Well the 25/0 was reunwrapped and changed to DDS.DXT5 format were as he used to use a uncompressed texture format DDS.32Bpp/ARGB so unlikely really but never know but id honestly prefer them to reunwrap it if they do since RSC use 2048x2048 texture size and use alot less files were as he used lots of 1024x1024 textures and RSC's unwrap was much nicer in comparison.

So back to the sounds and I wondered if there is a way to use the sounds off the DTG Class 27 to be used on the DTG Class 24?

I gave the Class 27 a spin on the Weardale line as D5370 - 5378 were originally Thornaby locos.

Or the sounds off the DT freeware 25 which sounds really good to me, I have tried, but keep ending up with a silent Sulzer. I tried changing the lines in the .bin referring to engine sound to the correct provider/product etc. It either isn't that easy or I must must be missing something, or both! :-?

I have not looked at the Class 24 or 27 yet but when I got a Class 45 prior to the DTG version coming out the sound was a problem so I copied the Kuju Class 47 Sounds, moved them in to the Class 45 folder and renamed to be the same a the provied sounds which I then removed. And it worked ok.

Possibly you are missing "ticking" the provider box for the loation of those sounds?

Another way you can do it, if you don't want to have to remember to tick that provider box for each scenario is to copy the entire sound folder into a new one in the Class 24's structure and refer the bin files to there.

Cracked it! :D

I copied the DT 25 sounds and pasted them into the audio folder for the DTG 25, renamed them, and then made sure that the references in the .bin were pointing at my new sounds folder, thanks to Peter and John for their advice. The DTG 25 now has a bit of thrash at the top end which in my opinion was originally missing, just a case of getting my hands on the blue reskins by Ash when he finishes them, and then we are in business.

Yea he who shall not be named had a habit of just using one engine sound that would pitch up or speed up as the loco did which is the case for the 25/0. Were as the DT 25 sounds I made from clips of brdw (with permission) when I made the sounds for the old meshtools 24 back in the day and just slapped them on the DT 25 for the freeware pack.

Personally have most of them aliased to the RSC33 Pack which I then have the AP pack on so.

Yeah, I tried the AP 33 sounds as well, but I think I prefer the freeware 25 audio as there is still a nice clunk, clunk to them at low revs.......I may yet change my mind :-?

Great work on the skins by the way, looking good! :)

Ends took alot longer to weather since the textures are really higher detail and bigger textures than the body just ended up duplicating the body weathering since it wouldnt match just means a slight loss in detail up close. Kickplates and some of the joins dont match well but best I could do due to how they are on the textures.
