Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
A great update, many thanks for this.
Took 73051 for a fabulous run over the S&D. I was completely immersed in a fantastic loco and run!
By the way, has someone pinched the bardic handlamp I'd left in the tender?
Thanks and a great Xmas present.
Paul

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
I have recieved the update and whilst it does look very nice, there is a major problem with driving the engine in Simple Mode. The boiler pressure drops rapidly like a brick and hardly builds up again. I hope this can be solved in a future update as I was really looking forward to driving this engine.
juggling railworks, football and uni can be easy, if you keep the less important things to a miniman

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
I am driving the 5MT in advanced mode. I am wondering if I have something corrupt here, the water site gauges do not show any level of water. I have tried letting the water level drop all the way to 40% on the f5 hud, and no level of water are indicated in the gauges.
One other thing is that the waterscoop does not show any animation, just the water spray, fair enough on that one if it's not animated.
Main thing is the site gauges not showing.

Are you using the core autofireman or firing yourself? Either way, you need to fully open the damper with the M key before you set off, and then you should find that the simple version steams more than adequately.carribob92 wrote:I have recieved the update and whilst it does look very nice, there is a major problem with driving the engine in Simple Mode. I'll investigate the gauges.anthonye wrote:I am driving the 5MT in advanced mode. I am wondering if I have something corrupt here, the water site gauges do not show any level of water. The scoop handle that you grab ingame should be animated, but there isn't an animated scoop under the tenders as adding one to each of the 30 or so tenders was beyond the scope of the update. One other thing is that the waterscoop does not show any animation, just the water spray, fair enough on that one if it's not animated.

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
Ok Chris, I totally understand about the water scoop, didn't expect that to go in as it was an update thinking about it
I will check tomorrow if it happens on all the 5mt's gauges, seems odd that nobody else has mentioned it here or in testing.
Will leave it with you.
Thanks
Anthony

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
I have checked again the water level in the glass again, it does show at around 75%, which then says 30% on the F5 Hud.
Should I ignore the hud, or is the calibration out.

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
I am driving this with Activ Fireman on in Advanced mode.
Having a lot of trouble with the water levels and keep running out.
Firstly is it me or is it the fireman who should be doing this?
Tired pressing K and L to get the water valves open. When I press I or O I just get messages about opening the Water valves first which is what I thought the first 2 keys did! As I keep running out of water something seems wrong so hope someone can help. Water guages give no animated levels so relying on F3 and can see water levels dropping away.
OK see the update has amended the way the steam injectors work but nothing seems to be turning on the water injectors for me. Looks like back to simple mode which is a shame as this is the first time I was going to try to drive in Advanced mode abeit with a firemans help.
Playing the first scenario which is an S&D double header - could this be the issue?

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
Glad you can confirm about the water gauge animations, being that nobody else has confirmed it. I was about to think that it was my end only. I think I will mothball it until after christmas when it gets sorted out, wrong time of the year now for updates.chrisreb wrote:I am driving this with Activ Fireman on in Advanced mode.

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
Tried with a single loco and still seem unable to get K or L keys to open water valves - nothing shows in outside view for any water coming out and just get warnings when pressing I or O. What are the rest of you doing that I am not?

I have all keys mapped to a Logitech G13 that works ok, also if I use the mouse on the lever, that works.chrisreb wrote:Tried with a single loco and still seem unable to get K or L keys to open water valves - nothing shows in outside view for any water coming out and just get warnings when pressing I or O. No problem with keys here.

So if you press K or L what happens for you?
I am on Advanced and JT Fireman On, ordinary Fireman OF, Expert mode.

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
New update requires you to hold the keys. Rather than toggling on and off like before. It actually winds open and close like a proper valve. Same with the steam valves. I tried and no issues on first run. Though may need to recheck the water gauge glasses

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
Ok reinstalled. Just pressed K and L and then I and O repeatedly. Eventually someone seems to be keeping water at above 60 so I guess working but not under any real control by me.

Re: JT BR Standard 5MT - OUT NOW
Hi Chris,
If you have ActivFireman turned on then you don't need to worry about any of the fireman's controls as the AI will take care of all of that. If you want to do all the firing and injectors for yourself then you must turn ActivFireman off.
Kind regards,
Chris
