 Thank you guys, it does mean alot to me and makes the effort put into the project well worth it.

Hi Mike, I've just quickly checked the simple loco blueprints and script (not had time to test it as I'm about to go to bed :morning: ), and the controls and scripting for the lamps should be exactly the same for both simple and advanced modes. Depending on whether you have the headlamps control set to 1 (lamps on loco/forwards) or 2 (lamps on tender/reverse), the 4 lamps for normal and western locos should be:

[8] - Top
[1] - Left
[2] - Middle
[3] - Right

And for southern locos with discs:
[4] - smokebox left
[6] - smokebox right.

The reason for the seemingly illogical order of numbers is because I find it easier to remember the key for each lamp by picturing the front of a steam loco on my numpad, where the numbers are positioned on the numpad in the position the corresponding lamp would be on the loco. 1, 2 and 3 would be the 3 lamp positions above the bufferbeam, and 8 would be the centre-top position. 4 and 6 are then the left and right positions on the smokebox "face", below the top lamp position on 8, but above the lower lamp positions on 1, 2 and 3. Maybe I'm just weird, but it's a system that works well for me.

For the LNER K4, I have opted to set it up in the style of Victory Works locos by having Stop Go, Simple and Advanced all on the same loco with a button press to switch it mid-scenario, which will make integrating all the features for all drive modes much easier for us devs and for the end user.

Kind regards,
Chris

Does anyone else have a problem with the controls locking up?

Just driving 73096 on the WCML scenario that comes with the 5MT and the chuffing sound disappears between 48mph and 60mph. Returns after 60mph. Anyone notice this ?

Help please !!! Included in the scenarios is one named " JT BR5MT- A Bunch of Fives" which runs on the Somerset & Dorset Railway Route . I have just been searching high and low on my setup and it seems that route may taken AWOL ( I'm sure I had it at some stage) .Could someone please advise the route number so I can search within my backups and re-install if that be the case.

Thanks Antony.

edit : by stroke of luck I found it . Checking with name my route I noticed that a number of my routes are listed with missing route properties.xml , clicking on the very first one named as such happened to be that route. Copying over that file from my backups returned back from it's holiday. Guess I got a bit more checking to do. Thank god for backups.

I noticed that too on the Riviera scenario.

Hi guys,

This was reported by a few people yesterday and after investigation, it was found that the chuff audio file was a bit disorganised with relation to the audio loop triggers and volume settings. I'm fairly sure it wasn't always like that during development but there you go. Rest assured, the head developer looked into it himself yesterday and I believe he's fixed it, but we will be double checking that all reported bugs are actually fixed before releasing an update that I imagine will be out next week.

With the older 4MT Advanced I have a gripe with the brakes in Simple Mode having no Running position (brakes are either applying or releasing with nothing inbetween). Is this also the case with the 5MT or does it have one?

Many thanks.

The simple 5mt has brake notches consisting of release, running and apply. The small ejector will work in the running notch but you don't need to have it running because the brakes won't leak on the simple loco.

Chris

Seems that the keyboard controls for the small and large ejector are swapped over. At least on the model used in the Edinburgh Newcatle scenario.

The small ejector should be on the J key, and the large one on the U key, is that not the case on your installation? I just tried the NtoE scenario and they operated as I expected them to, but if it's swapped for you, then I will be a bit flummoxed. If it's definitely swapped over, is it the same on all variants or just the clean green one (used in the NtoE scenario)?

Kind regards,
Chris

Whilst the activfireman does well stoking the fire, I have yet to see him attend to the injectors.

Chris, have had another look and it seems that it is the F5 display that is wrong, when you use the large ejector it tells you the small ejector is on, and shows nothing when you actually use the small ejector. Wonder if the rest of the info in F5 is correct now. No problems actually driving the engine so far, auto firemen seems to do his stuff, although have only managed a couple of short runs so far. Cylinder cocks are a pain with the keyboard though.
