Class 91 cabview in the rain

Has anyone else noticed that the class 91 cabview is not ideal in rain. The wiper-field seems too small and half your view is still obscured by the rain including signals. The external view shows the wipers clearing more of the windscreen.
Doing a run on the JT Newcastle to Edinburgh route in pouring rain and cannot get an internal view of any of the signals.

I'm pretty certain DTG said this would be corrected in a bug fix.... the bug fix has yet to appear. It's been over a year now....

I'd be surprised if they did. This is because if you check pictures of the 91/DVT combo when they were new, their windscreen wipers really were like that: and were eventually changed to be as they are today as drivers complained vociferously (lovely word, that). I read this at the time and it's always stuck in my mind.

Dangerous as they are - not surprised drivers complained.

I seem to remember reading that as well, the wipers are totally hopeless in the rain, the fact that drivers had to contend with them in real life is a worry.

We don't have this problem in MSTS or Open Rails

How can you tell it's a 91?

I press the right arrow key and sit in the second man's seat and drive the train from there. I use the keyboard to control and the F3 HUD for speeds so I don't need to see the cab. A bit of a workaround, but hey it works for me.

So the MSTS model is inaccurate then?

No its the weather effects that are innacurate

There is a fix available in the library:
 | | | Class 91 Cab View Fix [7231 bytes] - Class 91 Cab View Fix.zip File ID: 32487 Date: 27 Feb 2014 - 843 Downloads |
|
Works very well for me.

Yes, because when it rains, our windscreens always show a clear dry view

I think it's called US Sunny for the Pacific Surfliner and the Miami routes as those 2 areas have all the sun in the world, they've pinched ours, obviously think that the UK has Manchester weather every day of the year, no wonder DTG implemented raindrops in the game a few years ago.
Cheerz. Steve.
