Routes that contain the DTG AP01 Scenery Pack
Hello,
I have the North London Line 1985 route and all the requirements that need to be installed except for the DTG AP01 Scenery Pack. I don't have the Woodhead route that contains the scenery pack, but according to the route author, there are other routes that have this pack. Can anyone please tell me which DLC routes do have the AP01 Scenery Pack?

Thank you. I would like to have the Woodhead route, but not until Armstrong Powerhouse creates a sound pack for the EM1s and 2s.

Re: Routes that contain the DTG AP01 Scenery Pack
Won't it be a bit difficult for Richard to record any sounds?
Re: Routes that contain the DTG AP01 Scenery Pack
Erm, he doesn't create sounds, but pieces together high quality recordings from the actual things. There are none operational and only one EM1 got preserved I believe and 3 EM2s (could 3 out of 7 be a preservation record ratio for a class?). Even if there was an operational one there would be nowhere for it to run.amtrake8a wrote:Thank you. Re: Routes that contain the DTG AP01 Scenery Pack
Didn't the AP01 Scenery pack come come with Falmouth aswell?
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it
Re: Routes that contain the DTG AP01 Scenery Pack
I think one is possibly operational in Holland or at least was quite recently, Only 7 were built so that's almost half the class preserveddeltic009 wrote:Erm, he doesn't create sounds, but pieces together high quality recordings from the actual things. The route is worth getting anyway, it is still one of the most atmospheric routes as far as I am concerned and some of the scenery is lovely.amtrake8a wrote:Thank you. I would like to have the Woodhead route, but not until Armstrong Powerhouse creates a sound pack for the EM1s and 2s.
You can drive steam and diesel realistically over it too.
The EM1 and EM2 loco's sound fine to me but I have never heard one in real life so I don't know what they sound like but I can't imagine they can be much different.
However I suspect you will be waiting a long time for a sound pack.

Hi
As the old southern region routes are the only DC routes left in the country maybe the nearest sound to old EM1\2 might be one of GBRf electro diesel loco's(Is Mersey Rail DC?)
.
With train sims some times you have to compromise, you will never get any thing 100% right

I have seen this video on YouTube with an operational EM2 in Holland.TOMMO79 wrote:I think one is possibly operational in Holland or at least was quite recently, Only 7 were built so that's almost half the class preserveddeltic009 wrote:Erm, he doesn't create sounds, but pieces together high quality recordings from the actual things. However, I may consider getting the route as is. It's better than nothing, and I think the RailRight class 40 would feel right at home.
And thank you DaveDewhurst for providing that forum link with a list of routes that might have what I need.

Hi
in answer to amtrake8a's original question, APStation has been a default steam download on my installation since 2011 so I cant say how I originally got it, but I have done a quick check on my routes using RWTools and the following all show the RSC APStation pack as a requirement:
China Clay for Export
Doncaster Works
Falmouth Branch Line
Hatchet Hill Quarry
Horseshoe Curve
Northeast Corridor
Portsmouth Direct Line
Pietermaritzburg to Ladysmith
Settle to Carlisle
WCML over Shap
Woodhead Line
Hope that helps

Much different to what?theorganist wrote: The EM1 and EM2 loco's sound fine to me but I have never heard one in real life so I don't know what they sound like but I can't imagine they can be much different.

RSC thought the same thing and gave the locos a two-tone AC Electric Horn
Woodhead would be a nice route if there wern't so many things wrong with it and the locos.

Operational in "November-December 2006?" when the video was shot....according to the text under it anyway. If you're basing your opinion of the EM1/EM2 sounds on a single video though......amtrake8a wrote:I have seen this video on YouTube with an operational EM2 in Holland. This video is hosted by YouTube, a site which is outside of the editorial control of UKTrainSim and as such Parental Control is strongly advised.

In real life they 'clunked and clanked' along, particularly the EM1s as they were used on slower, often un-fitted freights.
I believe it was a freebie, existing users got it but it never became a 'core' pack so those coming into the game later didn't automatically get it.alpend wrote:APStation has been a default steam download on my installation since 2011 so I cant say how I originally got it

Re: Routes that contain the DTG AP01 Scenery Pack
They sound like an electric loco, that it good enough as I never heard the originals in action. I can recognise the sound of an class 81 to class 87 and would know if the sounds on one of those was wrong. Maybe if I heard a class 76 I would notice the difference but it would be pretty hard to DTG or RSC as they were then to record one.749006 wrote:Much different to what?theorganist wrote: The EM1 and EM2 loco's sound fine to me but I have never heard one in real life so I don't know what they sound like but I can't imagine they can be much different.

As I never travelled on the route it looks good to me, it has plenty of atmosphere and captures the area well (from what I can imagine it feeling like in the time period set). Maybe you could enlighten us to all the problems with the route, or better still tell DTG about them, maybe they would put the route right for you.
I am just expressing my opinion, just as you are.
