Have any of you guys managed to successfully get the Class 40 engine to cool down? I have idled the power for at least 5 mins while it was moving and I can't seem to get it to cool down. Yup the radiator slats are open oh and so are the cab windows but I still over heat.

Any help appreciated before I hit the buffers.

Cheers

Simon

Yes have read it a few times. Does a real class 40 over heat as quickly as this one does?

Just keep the vents fully open and you should have no issues. Thrashing on full throttle for a good while and didn't overheat at all

Doesn't it depend on the amps too,I seem to remember that it didn't matter whether i had the vents open or not,the engine was still getting "warm" whilst climbing south from Carlisle with a rake of ballast hoppers as the amps were high?

Make sure the vents are open, not just by pressing the open vents button, but make sure they are open visally, I had this problem just after leaving Carlisle on the settle line I thought I had opened the vents but the engine shut down and then after it cooled was running very hot again on the climb, having made sure the vent was open I did the run again and all was fine
