Re: Train Simulator 2016 Coming September 17th.
I'd be interested to know what they mean by the middle bottom box on the diagram
'Option to buy TS2016'
http://train-simulator.com/ed_images/ts16path.jpg
I wonder if they are going to offer TS2016 to existing owners at a reduced rate. Something I've been on about since Railworks days

For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it

Oohh I'd be careful if I were you lol, someone on here might accuse you of being a troll just for stating your opinion on something. Happened to me a few weeks back just for commenting on what I thought about the visuals in ts which I'm not very impressed with.TransportSteve wrote:Oh, yeah, wow, incredible, absolutely unbelievable, they've really pushed the boat out with TS2016, new user interface, driving trains command, trainspotter mode, new user interface, oh, I've already said that, and more TS Academy content, this is going to be really epic, or, was it extreme, either way, I'm totally unimpressed, what a load of old rubbish........![]()

We haven't even seen the upgrade yet and yet someone is bashing DTG for providing free improvements as they have done year on year. It is hardly constructive criticism, just a series of glib comments!!smartie38 wrote:Oohh I'd be careful if I were you lol, someone on here might accuse you of being a troll just for stating your opinion on something. If in six weeks it is clear TS2016 is awful and a massive step backwards then I could understand it!

Guys, let's face it. The core software is 8 years old, it's impossible to push the limit more than they already did, it's simply impossibe.
If you want something really new wait for the Unreal Engine Train Simulator, due next year hopefully. As for me, I'm not really excited for the route choice, as I own Sherman Hill since it's release and I'm not into stram trains, but they are really various and I'm going to get it for the upgrade.
But again, it's a metter of opinions.

I am in no way agreeing with Steve or disagreeing with him but he's made an opinion based on what he know's and has seen, isn't he allowed to express that opinion however blunt it may be?theorganist wrote:

I'm more of the opinion of what be will be. I have a PC that will probably run whatever Dovetail Games throw at me (I hope) and by November we'll just be complaining about the new menu system as we annually do.
I'm still no down with it boi and the extreme that is like the Epic innit, ultimate fail, sick that is, innit

Re: Train Simulator 2016 Coming September 17th.
I'm curious what the new menu structure will look like.
Asus Z97-K. Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4 GHz. 3GB NVidia EVGA GTX780Ti. 16GB DDR3 RAM. Sound Blaster Z. Windows 10 64 bit.
2x960GB SSDs, 3x2TB internal HDDs and 2x1TB & 1x2TB external HDDs.
Running TS @ 3840x2160 on a 4k TV.

I have an opinion on most things, you may have noticed, but it's how opinions are expressed that counts. "load of rubbish", whilst being one guys opinion reads far differently to "in my opinion, from what I've seen, it's a load of rubbish".
None of us are perfect, we all post stuff that's perceived differently from how we meant it to be but there is a tenancy for many not to even try to express an opinion without it being read as an *attack*

Yes of course he is allowed an opinion and to express it, even if it seemed more like a anti DTG rant to me!pjt1974 wrote:I am in no way agreeing with Steve or disagreeing with him but he's made an opinion based on what he know's and has seen, isn't he allowed to express that opinion however blunt it may be?theorganist wrote:

If Steve expects something radical maybe as someone pointed out he should wait for the new Unreal engine!
Having spent the evening on the Weardale route I think DTG have done a great job of bringing the current engine from its 2008 routes to what we have now and the fact they are still trying to improve it should earn them some Kudos in my opinion, which I also have a right to express unless told otherwise by the site owners!

Peter, in terms of perceived ranting, some people may find exclamation marks placed at the end of every sentence to be akin to SHOUTING which could also be perceived as... ranting. I don't know if that's the intention of what you type or not but it can be how it comes across.

Well that's not what I intended certainly, I just get carried away using them, I will curb them in future.ihavenonamenoreallyidont wrote:Peter, in terms of perceived ranting, some people may find exclamation marks placed at the end of every sentence to be akin to SHOUTING which could also be perceived as... ranting. Wasn't shouting as it is not something I do, certainly not to people I have never met on the internet.

Re: Train Simulator 2016 Coming September 17th.
It's a little ambiguous certainly, but until I'm told otherwise I'll read it literally as meaning you have the option (read choice) to purchase the full retail version of TS2016 to get the extra enhanced goodies. It would certainly be nice if such an option was at a discounted price, so I suppose we'll just have to wait for more details.pjt1974 wrote:I'd be interested to know what they mean by the middle bottom box on the diagram

Re: Train Simulator 2016 Coming September 17th.
Finally dawned on me why they used Extreme because it rhymes with Sixteen.
"Are you ready for the extreme in TS two thousand and sixteen". Very clever
Well it makes more sense because I still cannot keep a straight face when thinking about Extreme Train Sim

Re: Train Simulator 2016 Coming September 17th.
Just watched the past broadcast on twitch of the first look preview of the soon to be updated menu's.
I have to say a big congratulations to Matt Peddlesden and his fellow presenter for being able to keep up so much enthusiasm when trying to look exited about how the font has been changed from grey to blue, one or two of the buttons have moved and the fact you'll get stars now to indicate you've completed an Academy scenario. Bring on the 17th, I can hardly contain my excitement
I think this link will work. If it does it'll take you to the recorded Twitch Stream
