No chance. The defintily will succeed in making it worse, much worse.
Oh ye of little faith. They might make it better than what it is at the moment. We'll find out on the 17th of September.

Have you got inside information, seen a preview, are you a beta tester?
If you are proved wrong will be you bold enough to come and say so?!

I wonder now with the addition of UE6, if particle scripting has been updated. It would be nice if steam particles were affected by humidity.
Big plumes of steam in colder months or really foggy mornings, and a little haze or wisp in hot summer months

UE6? It will be version 4 of the unreal engine for the next gen of TS.

Unreal Engine 4 is able to do that. But then DTG has to use the UE4 Editor (modified) for the TS content creation proccess. Or, and that is what will not happen i think, they build wrapping editors to match the UE possibilities. But that is way to complex so a modified UE Editor is the only affordable way to give all the UE possibilities to the hands of contend developers. And of course the developers need to learn how to use the UE Editor. We will see

What the Unreal engine can and can't do is largely irrelevant in a discussion about TS2016 though--TS2016 is NOT based on it; that's for another, completely separate, version that is scheduled for release in 2016.

Oh, yeah, wow, incredible, absolutely unbelievable, they've really pushed the boat out with TS2016, new user interface, driving trains command, trainspotter mode, new user interface, oh, I've already said that, and more TS Academy content, this is going to be really epic, or, was it extreme, either way, I'm totally unimpressed, what a load of old rubbish........
Cheerz. Transport Steve.

Either way I'm looking forward to the Riviera Line '50s version, with a Grange and Collet coaches, and to the German BR155.
Meanywhile, I'm happy for them to give us a modest update while they continue to put their main efforts into next year's TS-UE version.
Cheers,

Well...you're under no real obligation to apply the update--just take the game offline, deny internet access to Steam.exe and RailWorks.exe with a couple of firewall rules and you can stick with TS2015.
Of course if you're really that unimpressed with the game, a quick visit into the Control Panel/Programs and Features applet gives you a nice easy way to rid yourself of it....might save you a lot of angst.

I'm similarly as impressed with all of the stuff you've put out for free for us to enjoy for TS of all ages. Dovetail are under zero obligation to provide anyone with anything for free, and what they do provide they have chosen to. It will have taken a good number of hours in programming, implementing and testing so it has cost them work hours.

The effective ad hominem is a bit unnecessary, isn't it?

And the award for the most unsurprising post in the thread goes to........!
I'm pleased they are continuing to improve the Sim it's come a long way since 2008 and I get more and more enjoyment from it.
Still some people are never satisfied.

Well, neither TransportSteve nor Dovetail are obliged to provide free stuff for the community, in any sense of the word. My point was that when ANYONE does take the time to provide something freely then it shouldn't be attacked for what it isn't, but appreciated for what it is. Devs have been chased left right and centre from here through many prevailing attitudes and nothing will change if that remains the same.
