Try the document I linked to here: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 5#p1767055. If the JT Meridian and Voyager can't match the requirements therein then by my reckoning the braking isn't accurately modelled.

Their model certainly doesn't do that but stopping from 60mph matches what technical specs I could find for the class 220/221! This braking performance hit you take while the speed is above 60 seems to be the main reason why their model fails to stop within the 1712m specified in the documents.

I know there's two kind of script files in ts2016, (lua & out) one type you can edit & the other you can't, with the 220/221 model I edited the script to remove the reduction in braking while the speed is above 60 but I also changed the braking force believing that to be wrong, I'll go back and edit the script again but leave the braking force at default and test again to see if it's possible to stop in time from 125mph.

If it works then hopefully this 222 model uses the same script file format that can be edited & not the encrypted format.

Just the one kind of script, they're both lua but the .out is the compiled version of the .lua file.

You may be able to over-ride the .out script with the

require("full path to existing script, and full name including extension of existing script goes here---use / instead of \ between folders!!")

declaration at the start of a custom script.

Then it'd be a bit of guesswork/hoping/praying that any script you enter after to alter the brakes matches the model and actually works. Might be an interesting experiment though.
If all that comes to naught, the uncompiled script you already have may work instead of the compiled one.

So after more testing, increasing braking performance & altering the scripting so you have the same braking performance above or below 60mph and applying full brake when at a distance of 1 mile from the next signal I came to a stop a little bit past the signal, 1712m is a little past 1 mile so at least I'm stopping within the guidelines in the document posted earlier in this thread. If the 222 has the same file structure as the voyager (i.e duplicate script files .lua & .out) then it'll be possible to adjust that model as well to fix the brakes.

If both .lua and .out versions of the script are present I believe the game will use the .lua version rather than the .out one---much the same way that a copy of a file outside of a .ap archive is used instead of the archived version. Perhaps somebody who has both models could do a quick test using the 220/221's script in the 222's folder?
