Changing track

Post by LundeSDK »

Hi all,

Been playing around with different tracks for the WCMLN route, as the default ones are a bit boring. Using the camber tracks it causes a huge FPS drop, so decided to use the ECML London-Peterborough track textures from RSC. Game runs well for about 10-15 minutes any scenario, then crashes saying "Saved dump file to C:/" or simply "Railworks.exe has stopped responding". Seems to be no issue at all with default tracks however.

My specs are:
i5-4690K, 970GTX, 16GB memory, Windows 10.

Using this excellent guide for swapping tracks:
http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... &p=1496208

Has someone done this sucessfully without getting weird crashes? Or can I someone open the dump file and find out whats wrong? :)
Tried lowering settings from HIGH, but really didn't matter. Could be an issue with the replaced track or track rules maybe?

Done a full replace of the WCMLN and WCLMoS's track to the ECMLS one and seem to have no issues so I have no idea what your issue is.

secludedsfx,

What settings are you using? Was running an Armstrong scenario with immense AI traffic, might have a say.
Have you tried running any heavy scenarios?

I have noticed the track on the Trent Valley Route is also a bit boring where the sleepers curve with the ballast.

I might look for something better.

There is still a tutorial on my site which shows how to swap track using RW_Tools.

Went ahead and overclocked my CPU from 3.5 to 4.4Ghz. Seems to have sorted this issue and gave like 10-15 fps boost.
It's amazing how dependant this game is on the CPU :o
