I tip my hat to you Richard, an astonishing piece of work. Best of luck with it and when can I play with it? :)

Looks really good. You've definitely 'broke the mould' with this.

BBC 2 last night! John Sargent rode and described this fantastic railway system - of particular note was the unique sound the locos make!
Your creation is "spot on"!
Look forward to the release.

Just downloaded today.

I can say with no doubt that this is a truly extraordinary package that you've delivered to us Richard. For your first route building project and even for just a 5km stretch it is fantastic.
The scenery is truly picturesque and all the custom assets you've put a lot of effort in to are fantastic.
I need a lot of driving practice though as I've stalled on a 1in22 so far. How on earth do they get over it in real life I will never know.

It's quite a jewel for the NG simulation world and really shows the way for expanding the NG range.

One thing I will say, and this does not spoil the route at all, it's just I worry for some of the AI.
The speed limit through the whole route seems to be about 25mph. I think it should be reduced to between 10-15mph, as even at 15 the loco is swinging from side to side on curves.

But on the whole it's an outstanding package and you've obviously worked very hard to make it look as real as possible. I take my hat off!

(Any chance of the Darjeeling Garrattt in the future? - :D :D )

Thank you for sharing this with the community!

Hi Richard,
Well done :)
This has been one of my favourite routes for a long time and It's great to see it available again. I say "again", because I'm sure there was a version, probably built for RailWorks, available on its own website several years ago! I still have a record of my log-in details, but, sadly, I can't trace the files I downloaded. The site doesn't exist now.

EDIT -  I've just discovered that the Darjeeling route I mentioned was for Trainz and not RailWorks. The site does still exist, but I no longer have Trainz :(

Cheers,
Ged

Thank you so much Richard, for all the obvious hard work which you have put in to this, what a cracking route, it is even better than I was hoping for! :)

I am not a steam man in any way, but I will spend many happy hours on this route, I am officially a convert to NG!

Thanks ever so much, just installed and about o go and have a run. One small issue though, I am missing the following:
e:\steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RScott\DHR\Scenery\Buildings\Darjeeling Yellow.bin
e:\steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RScott\DHR\Scenery\Vegetation\CedrusDeodara.bin

apart from that,all's good.

Antony.

I think those two files are where I changed filenames after placing models, so I don't think you are missing any actual model. Just me not being tidy enough!

I'd like to add my thanks for the route, rolling stock and other assets.

Installed this evening and had a play straight away. Lovely little route.
My first attempt saw me tumbling off the track, luckily onto the road
and not down the cliff, and I was doing all of 15mph LOL

Had a second, much more successful try at 11-12mph.
Will try the night-time journey tomorrow.

If you keep de-railing, don't forget what I mentioned in the manual. A couple of the locos are more forgiving. They still won't let you race along the line, but will go a bit faster before rolling over!

Trouble is, I can't remember which ones are which now! :D

I managed to complete the Joy Train scenario, It was the longest 5 miles I've ever undertaken at some stages I ended up going only .03 MPH and noticed as soon as I got up to 4 or more MPH my poor engine started rocking back and forth. Loved it though.

Did you press / to take the handbrake off? I forgot on my first run and had a smilar result!
