Black 5s

Post by K2rover »

Hi,

Are there any Black 5 engines available from anywhere apart from in Western Lines of Scotland? i.e. in a bit more pristine condition for modern railtours etc. I can't seem to find one. Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

There are Black 5's included in the UKTrainSim Freeware Pack - UK Steam #1. I think they are smart enough for a rail tour. In the assets folder they reside in the Kuju folder if you have the pack already.

Hope this is what your looking for.

Black 5s have been part of the the sim since it came out back in, what was it, 2007?

They're on the S&D, so if you get that route, you'll get a Black 5.

If you don't want that route but still want a Black 5, you'll need to buy the European Loco & Asset Pack (http://store.steampowered.com/app/208300/) which includes those Black 5s.

The UKTS pack, to my knowledge, contains a number of excellent Black 5 repaints which require this ELAP or the S&D route to function.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Once you find your RSC/DTG Black 5 then SSS do a great enhancement pack for it

All you need to do is tick the centre and right hand boxes of Kuju in the asset providers list. Then they usually show near the top of the loco list in the mid left flyout along with some in the consist list.

Ah brilliant. I'd completely forgotten about the S&D Black 5. I've used that in the West Highland Line Railtour scenario now so thank you.

Logged on to the SSS website and was rather disappointed to find the Jacobite pack had been discontinued as it was only a special pack. Bit of a shame for those of us that never heard about it at the time. :( Was lucky enough to go on the WHL a few weeks ago to Mallaig.
