These files disappeared after the Kyle Line patch and the files that appeared were new ones called:

CJB_Cl37_EngineSim.bin
TractiveEffortVsSpeed_CJB.dscv
TractiveEffortVsThrottle_CJB.dscv
That would certainly seem to be the cause, a missing simulation file or script will result in stock not loading despite showing in the available stock list. Why these files are getting deleted for some and not others is still a mystery though :o
Yep, I have just checked mine and sure enough those files were missing for me also. I wonder if anything else has gone awol?

Has anyone approached JT regarding this? Surely it would not be their intention to disable the Class 37 in this way?

Cheers,
(And thanks for the tip re the missing files. Would have saved me a LOT of anguish when I eventually discovered the problem)

Just checked my folder as mentioned above and it has the following only inside:

CJB_Cl37_EngineSim.bin
Class37 Engine Simulation UKTS.bin
TractiveEffortVsSpeed_CJB.dcsv
TractiveEffortVsThrottle_CJB.dcsv

Checking my backed up folder however, contains these:

As New Condition.bin
CJB_Cl37_EngineSim.bin
Class37 Engine Simulation UKTS.bin
Class37 Engine Simulation.bin
Class37 simulation.lua
TractiveEffortVsFieldDivert.dcsv
TractiveEffortVsSpeed.dcsv
TractiveEffortVsSpeed_CJB.dcsv
TractiveEffortVsThrottle.dcsv
TractiveEffortVsThrottle_CJB.dcsv

Would copying missing ones back into the Assets/Kuju/Railsimulator/Railvehicles/Deisel/Class37/Simulation revert it back to its original glory ? without braking it.

nb: I have not done a Verify Cache.

All those are present in my setup. I uninstalled and installed new versions multiple times when helping with testing so you would have thought I would be impacted but seem not.

Had similar happen on some locos after the update last year

Hi all,
Yes I had the same problem with scenario's not loading after updating the Kyle line as I stated in a previous post, I just did a verify game cache in Steam which solved the problem.
But I now regret not checking the folders in TS to see what was missing first, can't understand why the update should have deleted these files.
Are JT aware that this is happening.

Regards,
Pete.

Sorry to bump Trev's thread and dont ask why I have done it but I have verified today

Can anyone advise other than the AP sound packs, anything obvious that I may need to re-install that I could miss. Obviously the little tweaks here and there of loco's I get but do I lose all reskins and scenarios?

I do have back up's but if all I need to really worry about is AP stuff I will download and do manually.

Thoughts please?

Thanks

In theory you shouldn't lose anything that isn't Steam acquired DLC, a quick check would be to see how many (for example) class 47 reskins you have in your new copy and compare with the backup copy.

No...on my first of 4 rest days today....late out of bed though after nights :)

...and I've been out putting together flat pack furniture for my daughter, which grew from being "can you build a cabinet for me?" into a full bedroom suite.......she did go to the Chinese take away for tea though, so that was a bonus :D

Nobody knows what you have so nobdoy can tell that . . .

What you need to understand is that the "verify" corrects any modified files back to original form so it isn't actually deleting all AP files, just the specific ones that modify a locomotive, say, to use alternative sounds.

Any add-on that is independent should not be affected.

I recommend a utiliy such as Generic Mod Enabler which ensures you can simply reinstate your mods:

Thanks John

To be honest I get the part about what I have is unique to what others may have in terms of content, and I have already made a start on the AP sounds, but it was really just a case of anything else that is fairly common and may stand out to others...

Regarding the modding tool, it was tinkering that got me in this mess and I am best off leaving that sort of thing to the experts... Something I am most certainly NOT

Don't forget that experts in any field start off knowing nothing, it's only by tinkering that they gain expertise.

. . . and that those who claim to be experts are probably not!
