No particular dissatisfaction but I'm assuming that my high-end PC will be rather wasted if harnessed to 10 year old monitors with max 1680x1050 resolution.
I have a small desk and I find that my twin-monitor setup works well for non-gaming use, so I'm in no rush to change that.
Got a new graphics.

Grand, there isn't an overwhelmlng need to replace the monitors so you can take as long as you like deciding how to go about things---much better than having to replace stuff that's developed a problem!
As you don't game greatly the 144MHz monitors might be a little OTT, do you use both monitors when playing TS or is one for the game and the other for "other stuff"?
Worthy of consideration would be a G-Sync enabled monitor, whether the cost is palatable is another thing though---but the technology is pretty cool, and does work very well at eliminating screen tearing.

A GTX 970 has 4 gigabytes of vram. 3.5gbs of standard memory, and 0.5gb of slower memory.Trev123 wrote:How much memory does your 970 have ?

I own the asus V248qe monitor, brought it mainly for 3d but the 144hz refresh rate for 2d and the 1ms response time is very handy as well, can highly recommend it, it's one of the best gaming monitors out there.longbow wrote:I have just upgraded to a high-end PC (i7-4790K/GTX970) and I'm wondering about replacing my elderly Samsung 226BW monitors. My current thinking is to keep a twin screen set-up which would restrict me to no bigger than a 24in screen. The gaming mags suggest a 60MHz Acer G237HL or a 144MHz ASUS V248QE, but as I don't do much PC gaming other than TS2015 I wonder if the latter is really worth it at twice the price.
Any thoughts please?
