I'm only about 6 miles from Neville Hill and I can watch it...tnleeuw01 wrote:Not available for my location (NL)
Sorry.... NL is the code for a depot not far from here. I can't see any location specific restrictions on the site, so just where/when do you get the error message?

Hi Mark,
That was a very interesting film, not much health and safety in those days.

Re: DTG Weardale and Teesdale Rail Network
Without wanting to start a large off topic debate on it, if this video is from the 1960s then the "common sense" you talk of was responsible for thousands of deaths up and down the country year upon year, whether at work or not, and the revisionist attitude to health and safety before legislation is absolutely ridiculous.kennyb wrote:.michaelhendle on 11 Jul 2015 15:45

Thanks for the link! Most of the engines shown I would expect to see in the NE, but a few surprises: Fowler 4MT 2-6-4T and BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0...longbow wrote:That video is not available outside the UK it seems. But this might be useful:

Tanks for linking the slide show Longbow
Re: DTG Weardale and Teesdale Rail Network
Would some kind person please post an indication of the durations of the included scenarios for this route, please?
It's definitely on my wishlist but as my time comes in limited chunks these days, if it's all Donner Pass-length then there's less point for me.
Thank you!

The 1960s maroon could be quite luminous when clean/freshly painted and in the right light conditions. But if dirty and seen on a dirty day, it could appear very dark and dull. I also think the film emulsion of the time often 'overcooked' reds. I think overall that the TS renditions of 1960s maroon don't really capture the subtlety of the real thing.tnleeuw01 wrote:It's a slideshow not a video but very nice, thanks!longbow wrote:That video is not available outside the UK it seems. Especially with digital enhancement. I would be very surprised if those pictures had not been enhanced given the era.jp4712 wrote:The 1960s maroon could be quite luminous when clean/freshly painted and in the right light conditions. . . . and stand by for your ISP to cut off your account for unacceptable use. In some countries it is actually illegal:ightenhill wrote:juts use a proxy server to watch the video if your outside the uk. Google
