There is a thread on this at RWA with comments from Derrick.

Hi
Just a quick question, when you buy the route will some of the scenario's run straight away or will we have to buy extra addons,to get the scenario's to run?
If so which extra items will I need to get besides the 105 DMU,as I might as well get the extra items whilst the steam sale is still on

There's not been a route so far that didn't come with scenarios, and all scenarios coming with a route bought of steam are playable with the stock included in the route.
That's been the rule always.
The route will come with a fair bit of stock, some new some old.
All the included scenarios will work out of the box with that rolling stock.
But, however, there's already quite a bit of rolling stock available that can also be used on this route, and I'm sure that workshop scenarios will start popping up very soon using other stock - so check what would likely run on this route, what you don't have already, and buy as much of it as you can afford!
Also, check what engines and coaches from the likes of DT and MatrixTrains would go with the route and might be on sale now.
Cheers,
--Tim

Thanks Tim,
for your advice,I think I will need some LNER coaches from Matrix, and or DT,so far from DT I have all the class 4MT Loco's and the B12,although I don't think the B12 went that far north.
All I hope is that scenario makers don't use items from who can't be named,it's alright for older members they have the items but for us newbies they are impossible to get.

Hmmm, well, until the route is released, we won't know exactly which rolling stock Derek has used for his scenarios that isn't included with the route, so, as the Sale finishes tomorrow, if you require anything you'll have to pay full price for it, unless, you wait until the next Sale, which will possibly be.......Halloween.
Unless Derek comes on here this afternoon and advises us, which is highly doubtful.

Hi
The scenarios that come with the route only use rolling stock that comes with the route.

Derick has just added to his blog.
http://dereksiddle.blogspot.co.uk/
He has finished.
That must be an awesome feeling for a project that is so big and has taken so long. Its an inspiration to anyone who is building a route. Really looking forward to this one.

Andy

This is looking really good!
I'm hoping that the locos (37 in particular) will have updated physics though - it was really tedious getting stuck in a field divert hole slogging a 37 up Woodhead.
ISTR there's a major freeware physics patch for the (a) 101 - is it likely to work on this one?

The problem with field divert holes can't be circumvented as it is an issue with how the game is coded to deal with diesel/electric simulation. Pretty sure if you could work around it then it would have been done by now by the likes of AP etc

This reminds me, Matt, I still need to send you and Richard some class 37 script and sim files, and write a brake script for the deltic megapack...
It may ruin the career scenarios, but if I have time I will upload a patch for the class 37 included with Weardale (although it might not need one!) that was used for the Kyle reskins.

It has already been worked round by DTG themselves, or by someone on their behalf, in at least one release as DP1 doesn't suffer from it.

Oh, well DP1 is undriveable below 10mph so it wasn't that good a job - wheelslip and over 2000amps from a start at 6% throttle surely isn't realistic.
