Also wonder if I have a loft missing at Exeter and Teignmouth docks - no dock sides and the track etc. all floating in mid air. Checked through RW Tools and nothing seems amiss plus no milk bottles for single assets, so assume a loft?

Missing;

\Yelland\Addon\RailNetwork\Signals\UK Semaphore\GWR_Arms\gwr4ft stop 1ta.bin
\Yelland\Addon\RailNetwork\Signals\UK Semaphore\GWR_Arms\GWR-groundsig-entry-mainline 3T.bin

Ran part of the first scenario last night - fantastic work on the route :)

Rod
The first item is nothing to do with me, but the second item, "groundsig.........3T.bin", is an additional requested item and can be found in the Patch01 Supplementary GWR Signals V3 (ukts 34089).

Hi John, Just downloaded ukts 34089 and I can't see \Yelland\Addon\RailNetwork\Signals\UK Semaphore\GWR_Arms\GWR-groundsig-entry-mainline 3T.bin in there.

My apologies. Somehow (senior citizen moment, that's my excuse) the supplementary kit (ukts 33753) had been uploaded, this has now been corrected. The .rwp file only contains one item, the groundsig in question.

These assets appear to be referenced from File ID 31994 and are listed as a requirement. Darren has informed me that only a small amount of these assets were used and he will work with the developer to replace them for a future update. He has also requested that the author of this upload remove that assets file as no permission was given by him to upload his Route Building Pack in full, nor did he give permission for them to be repathed, this has caused the duplication,

Anyone with thoughts on this or anyone else with this problem? Or is it likely to be my setup for some reason?

Thank you on ukts 33753 John

Hello All,

missing lofts at the docks and alongside sections of track (e.g at the River Teign) are likely to be caused by you not having unpacked the .ap file for the Riviera Line, you also need to do this for the West Somerset route.

Regards the elevated loft near the terraced houses at Dawlish - we have not experienced this during testing.

We will do our best to sort out any teething problems, but hope you are enjoying Glorious Devon!

In the Railworks>Assets>RSC folder is the folder called WestSomerset. Inside a pristine WestSomerset folder (ie one that has just been downloaded from steam) is a single file called WestSomersetAssets.ap and nothing else.

You can use Mike Simpsons RWTools to unpack this file, or if you have WinRAR you can right click on it and select "Extract Here" from the drop down menu.

You will then find that inside the Railworks>Assets>RSC folder you will now have the file "WestSomersetAssets.ap" and a folder called "WestSomersetAssets".

Inside that folder called "WestSomersetAssets" you should find all the necessary unpacked folders and files for the Glorious Devon 1960 route to function.

*Note: As an aside that may come in handy for some developers I found in my computer there can be pathing issues at times. (Caused by reinstallations after verifications). These required me to copy all the contents of the "WestSomersetAssets" folder and paste them directly into the RSC "WestSomerset" folder. The route then worked but it lead to duplication of assets in the route editor selection boxes. *sigh*

I might be wrong but i always thought when you unpack these ".ap" files you unpack them into the addon name folder after the main developer folder e.g "RSC\RivieraLine" and not as in this case "RSC\RivieraLine\RivieraLineAssets".Surely if the RivieraLine assets have not been modified in any way the original ".ap" file would not need to be unpacked when using them with a cloned route.I think the reason people are not seeing the turntables and other assets is as i found out they are unpacking the ".ap" file into the "RSC\RivieraLine" folder and not the "RSC\RivieraLine\RivieraLineAssets" folder.I know the route works ok with the ".ap" file unpacked into the "RSC\RivieraLine\RivieraLineAssets" folder but it does unnecessarily double the size of the routes asset folder and if you want to use RW-Tools on the route it needs to be triple the size after further unpacking the ".ap" file into the "RSC\RivieraLine" folder. Also i have noticed and is comfirmed by RW-Tools that there is no scenery assets on any of the route tiles south of GoodRington Sands Sidings down to Kingswear but the trackwork seems to be ok.Apart from these few problems the route looks absolutely brilliant and thankyou guys for all your great work youve put into this project very much appreciated.

Thanks Newbouy

EDIT: I just discovered a couple of others addressed the first part of my post while I was putting it together. But I'll let it stand. A lot of the unpacked assets aren't needed, so I have culled down the duplicates leaving only those required. But I do think this structure is incorrect "protocol", isn't it?

- - - - - - -

I've just realized, it's nothing to do with UNPACKING the .ap file. The route has actually duplicated the required assets into a new folder WITHIN the Riviera Line and West Somerset folder.

The locations are:

Assets\RSC\RivieraLine\RivieraLineAssets\ xxx

Assets\RSC\WestSomerset\WestSomersetAssets\ xxx

Read that twice, because your eyes and brain coordination may not interpret it correctly! . . . the actual assets need to be inside ANOTHER folder named RivieraLineAssets and WestSomersetAssets. Those assets are never going to be picked up by the Route unless you create a new folder and copy (duplicate) the required assets.

(the same happened with Hawksassets from UKTS 31994 as reference by Richard Fletcher above)

I have another problem - gantry signals floating in the air without support posts (e.g the starter signal gantry at Newton Abbott at the start of scenario 1A12 11:35 Penzance-Paddington) . . .

Image

I cannot download Yelland's UKTS 34089 because it doesn't exist - has it been pulled in the last few hours??? Am I correct to assume this is to blame for my floating signals? What can I do about it without UKTS 34089?

Not to take away from the great work here - looking forward to spending a lot of time with this route :)

We do indeed and I've just recently finished unwrapping and baking them.
