Update v51.2a now available
Appears to be the release version of the beta that ran last week. I didn't try it personally but I hear it was favourable.
List of changes...
07/05/2015
Two weeks ago we held an open Beta for an upcoming update for Train Simulator 2015, this beta proved extremely successful and thanks to everyone who took parts feedback and involvement we are now able to publicly release this update for all owners of Train Simulator 2015.
52.1a CHANGELIST
UI Improvements
Added a Resume button to Quick Drive Menu for the last saved scenario.
Added a Start button to Workshop to launch a selected scenario.
Added a Rating screen before Debrief, following completion of a Workshop scenario.
Fixed the display of Non-Official Routes/Trains/Scenarios in the Drive screens.
Fixed the inability to use Copy/Paste for the GoogleMaps overlay API key in the Tools menu.
Operational Bugs
F3/F4HUD Speed & Gradient display improved to read from the front of the train instead of the rear.
Fixed Quick Drive AI no longer being random.
New Functionality
Additional regional support
Expansion of external controller support (requires 3rd party compatibility).
This update should download and apply automatically through steam and will be around 26.1mb in size.
Please see here for more information on what is included in the update -

Re: Update v51.2a now available
On my rig the rating screen appears if closing the scenario for any reason, for example saving and closing, or if I have stock missing (without the scenario being completed).lateknight wrote:Added a Rating screen before Debrief, following completion of a Workshop scenario.
The rating screen does not appear to be an option, as I can't find a way to close it without selecting the thumbs up or down option.

Does any one know what this means:
Expansion of external controller support (requires 3rd party compatibility).

I'd say it means they've enabled more support for controllers other than the mouse and keyboard, as long as said controllers support whatever DTG have added/amended. It could mean a more open interface so 3rd parties can support it with greater ease, or that 3rd parties need to approach DTG for any code/instructions.
Thet do state they'll give more details about the changes soon, so might be worthwhile keeping your eye on the Engine Driver pages. http://www.engine-driver.com/article/sh ... -available

Re: Update v51.2a now available
Just tried the quick drive AI on the west coast over Shap route on an era specific QD (1983) and I've just had an IC swallow HST pass me even though is specifically set up not to spawn before 1987 .
The first train was a peak on Blue & grey Mk2's which I thought great its fixed , Followed by a class 350 reskin then the HST . I'm fairly sure all the class 350 reskins are set up not to spawn before 2000 ?
So getting random AI trains in QD but the year system looks like its still broken . Will test more later

Re: Update v51.2a now available
The Year thing is still broke. I did send a long email explaining what bit of QD I thought was not working and I had a very nice email from Support who said
"Thank you for providing this detailed information about the nature of the issues with Quick Drive. I have passed
this along to our development team and hopefully they can find some way to fix the issue and get it working
as intended again. In the meantime I can only apologize for the impaired function of this aspect of the game"
So we can only live in hope
Cheers

Re: Update v51.2a now available
My Train Simulator has updated and now having trouble using the workshop.
I browse the workshop from within the game. When I click on an item to view, Train Simulator freezes up, and I have to use task manager to exit. Train Simulator creates a dump file.
Meanwhile is there an alternative method of subscribing to a scenario outside of the game
Can other people here confirm that there workshop access works ok, do I have a problem or is the update faulty.

Re: Update 52.1a now available
I've always subscribed to workshop items outside the game using the Steam UI, open steam and when you select Train Simulator from your library then Browse the Workshop you can select and subscribe to scenarios there. I actually thought this was the only way to do it.
Re: Update v51.2a now available
Many thanks. I now remember that I have used that method a long time ago. Been using the in game method since, as I always take a quick peep at engine driver.FoityBill wrote:I've always subscribed to workshop items outside the game using the Steam UI, open steam and when you select Train Simulator from your library then Browse the Workshop you can select and subscribe to scenarios there. Anyway tried the UI method and subscribed. When I was in the game tried the workshop again and it now works ok.
Must have been a problem with the in game browser, but cannot understand why it locked everything up and made a dump file.

Re: Update 51.2a now available
The version in the thread title (as well as in the Steam announcement) is wrong. The correct version is 51.2a.
You can see it in the 'version.txt' file in your railworks folder.

Re: Update v51.2a now available
I just downloaded it, and now my raildriver refuses to connect. Hopefully it's something I did and not the third party interface improvement....

Don't techno for an answer!

Re: Update v51.2a now available
Mike - Changes to the external interface should not cause any backwards compatibility issues, RailDriver should work just fine with latest released software from PI Engineering (and did in beta testing).
Let me know how you get on.
Matt.

Trust DTG to get their announcement wrong and subsequently my post..
Can a mod change the title to avoid confusion.
Thanks
