they keep upgrading this game but still don't fix the errors and you have to buy this to use all the new stuff like weather tools etc

Just like most games, they all have errors and people complain about them. Just read some game forums.

No....those are part of the free yearly upgrades to the game core; no further purchase necessary to use them.

When you talk about faults are you referring to the core programming or errors in assets?--there's a slight, subtle, but very important difference. If you sat and counted real faults, rather than just the things you don't like/can't understand I suspect you'll find this game is remarkably fault free--plenty of errors and inaccuracies, lots of niggles, but very few faults.

This is precisely the reason I have not purchased £100's of add-ons for TS after reading the announcement of UE4. Personally UE4 can't come fast enough for me as I regard the current graphics engine inadequate with it's flickering and stuttering images and before a comment is made that it's my PC specs,it's not as my rig is as good as what's out there currently + I've also witnessed the same poor graphics effects in videos released by DG whom I should imagine would only want to display footage showing TS at it's highest attainable capabilities ??

OK, if it's not the specs of the PC we have to consider the configuration
An on line video watched on YOUR computer may seem 'ropey' but it won't be as it displays on any other machine-----the argument is very flawed.

Videos or streaming are compressed by nature versus gameplay which gives you the raw graphics straight out of the box.

There's also nothing like backing up your claims of it not being your PC by being as absolutely vague as possible, I mean, define 'out there'? I know someone who owns a 486 PC with Windows 3.1 and his machine is technically 'out there'.

In existence at the current time. :o

Bartdude is a very shrewd gentleman, no doubt the foolhardy will continue to purchase. 8)

Come the day (UE4) of judgement, sick and parrot may come to mind for many.

Bartdude and Myself with our wallets firmly closed at least will not be buying millet or seasick tablets.

Yes but just because UE4 is on the horizon that wouldn't necessarily mean TS becomes redundant? I will most likely get the UE4 version, but I am definitely getting the Kyle line for TS! Horses for courses.

Windows 10 will be released soon, does that mean none of us should buy any software in case it doesn't work under the new operating system?
Nobody is denying anybody the right not to rush in, the right to wait and see, nor claiming that the Unreal Edition will cure all ills, so why are you claiming that those who have stated that they will try (please note the word 'try', nobody has stated that they'll junk the version they have now) Unreal but still buy for the present format are fools?

I can only assume that this comment was intended to be inflammatory, either that, or you felt it necessary to insult many members of the forum :o

I am afraid that I am one of the 'foolhardy' as I will continue to purchase for the current incarnation of the sim, and with good reason. I enjoy the sim at present, and will continue to enjoy it for some time to come, as such I see it as money well spent. The choice not to spend is obviously yours to take, but let us not fool ourselves into thinking that the UE4 version won't be superseded at some point, after you have invested in DLC, will you then feel you have wasted your money?

Personally, I'll start thinking seriously about whether to buy DLC when instead of DTG's statements being "We're developing a version based on the Unreal Engine" it's along the lines of "We're releasing a version based on the Unreal Engine".

For all any of us know the Unreal version may never see the light of day.

Good point!

I'm another one that won't be buying any more DLC for the current gen, I will wait for what the next gen holds.

If a route or loco I like appears for the current sim I'll buy it. Why not? Unless there's reason to think that the UE version will be coming out soon and the same piece of DLC will be released on that very soon afterwards I see no reason not to. When it comes out I'll run my current DLC on the current version and load up the new one for anything that I get on that. The only downside is for DLC developers, who may be wondering whether it's worth waiting for the new sim instead of putting effort into the current one. For the rest of us I can't see what all the fuss is about.
