Just Trains Kyle Line - Now Available
Hi all,
I've been working on the above route and it is finally in the final stages of completion. The route is based in the current era (post RETB installation) so is suitable for a multitude of different stock, but to be honest, large parts of the route haven't changed all that much since steam days.
More info on the route can be found at:
http://www.justtrains.net/product/kyle-of-lochalsh-line
More info:
"The Kyle Line", as it is sometimes known, is one of Britain’s greatest railway journeys. The line runs from Dingwall to Kyle of Lochalsh on the west coast of Scotland but most passengers generally tend to start their journey at Inverness.
Inverness is the capital of the Highlands, located 158 miles north of Edinburgh and 561 miles from London, and still well over 100 miles from John O'Groats at the very northern tip of Scotland!
The Kyle Line features an authentic and highly atmospheric reproduction of the line from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh and is approximately 85 miles in length, with 16 stations featuring custom buildings. The depot and yard at Inverness are included. The route includes many custom-built buildings and objects as well as locomotive repaints and the acclaimed Just Trains signals which include our all-new RETB signals. All the signalling is based on actual signalling diagrams.
As you drive along this fantastic route you will be able to take in the beautifully detailed scenery besides Loch Carron and the Beauly Firth as well as stunning Highland landscapes around Achnasheen. This is one of the most diverse routes possible in Train Simulator, stretching from the east coast of Scotland over the summits of Ravens Rock and Luib through Glen Carron and on to the western coast village of Kyle.
The Kyle Line includes challenging gradients as steep as 1 in 40 and scenarios up to three hours in length to challenge your driving skills.
It's a route I have long wanted to recreate in TS so to finally see it nearing completion is amazing. I'm sure you will all enjoy it....
Regards,
Mark

I have been having a look at my local line on Just Trains website in development section. I am absolutely blown away with the detail, Kyle station is spot on and the rest of the screenies look equally good, first day purchase for me, been waiting ages for this!

Does anybody know when it will be out?
P.S. Sorry guys just seen Almarks post from earlier.

JT have just announced this route on their website - one that many of us have no doubt been wishing that someone would tackle for some time.
Obviously early days and WiP, but so far, Kyle itslef and Inverness look particularly promising!

The route itself is pretty much done, some tweaking here and there,no release date or anything like that but I have finished work on the route in the main. Although with all pics until release it should be considered a WIP of course...
It's probably my favourite route in the UK to travel on so to have the pleasure to create it in TS is wonderful
The route is based in the current era but has a mix of signage on some stations (although each station only uses one type) to recreate the 1980's/90's....
Cheers,
Mark

Definitely looks superb, be a first day purchase for me too, and it will have working RETB signalling too.

Looks fantastic, we need a few modern infills until we can do Kings cross right through to Kyle but we have lots to go on in the meantime.

Simply stunning. It's a route I've waited a long time for.

Hope remains for the Far North line too, tho it is not quite as scenic as the Kyle line

Just imagine thrashing out of Dingwall with a 27 once the AP soundpack is ready!

Edit: nothing found apart from a 2009 Wick to Thurso via Georgemas for Rail Simulator
Can you point the routes out for me please as I cannot see any for the Far North line (Inverness to Wick/Thurso)
