Can someone please try this...

Only if you happen the scenario called "Along the levels to Burnham on Sea" I wish to see if anyone else is able to complete it, themselves, other than myself, as I can't seem to work out the yard layout. The yard is that familiar one, named "Evercreech Junction", and you start a Black 5 off from one end of the yard, head off forward, towards the turntable, but not as far, stop, and then head off to platform 2, where there's a rake of 4-wheel wagons. This is the part where I start to get confused,

I'm unsure whether or not, This is MEANT to be confusing, or not, as I can't see if you CAN get to the other end of the train, or not. I'm getting one serious headache from this scenario, the longer I play it. There's something about this, that puzzles me no end - I just can't seem to work it out. If anyone DOES have this scenario, can you please help me out, and see how far you are able to get, with this, and report back to me on the sort of progress you make, with it - as I'm very curious to see what other's think of it. Thank you !

There are 48 comments on Steam Workshop about this scenario. The author realizes there are problems with it and is trying to get it to work better.

Yes. I just had a look at it. You mean ' Burnham special delivery' ?
Can't see how to run around to couple the wagons to the back of the Black 5..
edit
Does he mean you to turn the Black 5 on the turntable then reverse to the wagons ?
I'm too tired to go back to look atm.
I did look. He's forgotten to tell you to turn the Black 5 on the turntable (shift G) then reverse onto the wagons (change points as necessary in 2D map (key 9).
Then move forward to a point where you can reverse to pick up the brake. Changing points again as necessary. Tab past some signals if needed.
I saved it there. Next is set points to the line to Pyle. I'll finish it tomorrow.
Not very clear instructions but it can be done.

I have subscribed to both the route and the scenario but they don't show up. On the Workshop page in TS they show up but when you highlight one the drive button remains fogged out. I have the S&D route from DTG.

Even more problems, eh ? If they don't show up, then how can you downloas these ?? Maybe you need to re-think this sentence ? What's with the S&D Route ? Can you explain that, to me, so I understaand what you mean, about it ? Sorry, I'm still a bit foggy !

Hi ! Yes, that's the one I mean, actually, but "Along the levels to Burnham on Sea" IS part of the name, actually. Glad to hear it CAN be done, and I DID originally think of turning the loco, at first, and it still didn't work after I spun the engine on the table, and DID look at the brake van, but, in nowhere, did the Brake Van get mentioned ! The instructions were NOT clear at all. Definitly NOT clear ! But thanks for going to the trouble of doing it. Must've been written by "Duh" :). Must've been placed (the engine, I mean) the wrong way round, originally, possibly. Cheers!

The easiest way to find out exactly what you should be doing is to first clone the scenario then go into the Scenario Editor mode.

Enter the 2d map and click on the Player's train in the drop-down list and the full list of instructions will be displayed. :P

Copy and print the list if it is complicated.

If nothing in the list is highlighted with a red X then it will be possible to complete the scenario.

For simple scenarios that do not involve a lot of shunting, while you are in the Editor, you could also try removing the Driver Player status from the train to make all trains come under AI control.

Then run the scenario while still in the Editor and you will see the player train move off under AI control, just remember what it does ! But be aware the AI driver is a bit simple and won't for example uncouple and run round a train. :(

Somerset & Dorset Railway Route Add-On which you need for this route. If you have the latest version of TS2015 you can now run workshop scenarios from the workshop screen in the game by pressing the drive button.

I do believe that is part of the Beta version, not the latest version. that you have to opt into and will be removed when the test is over pending results of feedback. Just clarifying so people don't think they've missed out when they haven't.

Once you can see what to do it's not hard. The author should have just added that you need to turn the Black 5 first on the turntable.
Reverse to couple to the wagons THEN reverse a bit more so you can set your path to the Gate.
With a basic knowledge of setting points, tabbing past red signals and checking the 2D map for the next destination , it's not hard.
Many shunting scenarios are like this and the player has to work out the route.
Anyway a nice representation of the Somerset Levels and with a bit of luck and regular saving you might reach Burnham

Got about a mile from Burnham then had a collision with an AI train. Going to have another go.

Finished it. In the instructions it says via Highbridge 3, but you have to stop there and wait for an on coming train. It is actually stationary on a branch line but eventually moves after 5 or 10 minutes and then you can continue on to Burnham. Pay attention to the manual points making sure they are set right through the map view using the 9 key.

Still unable to do this, so far. Turned the loco on the turntable, then coupled to the train, but am unable to get the train into the yard to pick up the van to continue from there. Not sure of the diamond crossing in front of the train. Too many automatic points, and want to get into the editor, and change the scenario script to see if it will be easier... Can you do this ?

No. It does work. After you couple to the wagons REVERSE some more until you are past the points for the next stage to the Gate. In many shunting scenarios the player must work out the route and change points.
Use the 2D map (key 9) and change points as needed. I did mention this in a previous post. Use tab if you need to pass a red or change points on the way to Burnham if unable to pass at danger.
Save often.
