Anyone who belongs to UKTrainsim.com...?

Whoever worked on the Coniston Branch route in the past... Is there any chance the UK Freeware is going to work on the Coniston Branch Again, as I got it working once again, and looked at it once again, only to find, after a trial run to Coniston with a HSTthe whole distance, it was not looking as good as it used to. The whole route is littered with milk bottles throughout ! And a lot of the track is, in places, with the ground sunken below the track, or the track, raised above the ground, slightly, affording a strange look.

And, at Coniston itself, coming to a stop at Platform 1, I noted that buildings were raised above the platforms themselves. Surely, this could be corrected, and a very good-looking route might be made to look a sight better, as a result ! It's a real shame, really, leaving it like it is. This, and other routes need to be made better, so they make the ukTrainsim proud of them. Or, have I missed something, perhaps ?

Milkbottles signify missing assets.

Are you sure you have all the requirements installed?,

I had to add this route as it is required for Southampton-Weymouth route.
I haven't run it for some time but I just had a look at one scenario. It still looks really nice to me.
The only problem I found so far was missing texture on the DT/addon/class 25 greenWP.
I couldn't get this to show so swapped for another 25 from another company.
You obviously have not added the extra UKTS Freeware packs mentioned in the manual or readme as Richard says.

edit
I just ran the railcar scenario Foxfield-Coniston. Excellent route and not a white hill in sight or even a milk bottle.

Well, if I actually did start the installing of the route, from the UK Train-sim file, itself, then I should have everything for it, shouldn't I ? I should have everything, I think, but will have to have a look, and see if I actually do have them all. What's the name of that Australian program, that can detect missing assets, again ? I forget, really.I'll see if I can find out, and let you know. I really didn't realise that milk bottles actually denoted missing assets, so why didn't I learn that fact, years ago ??? Thanks a lot, anyway... it helps a lot, of course !

I run the route frequently, it is my standard gauge stock test route. There are no missing assets on my copy so I think that probably you have not got all the Assets needed for the route downloaded. RWTools is the program you need to detect which assets you do not have.

I have run a check on the route in RWTools and the Assets are either sourced from other UKFreeware packs, the default Kuju (TrainSim) assets, and some specialized assets supplied with the route itself. There are no assets in the route which I know to be currently unavailable so it should load OK. Are you sure you have downloaded the right UKTreeware packs ?

Hi Jim,

The program you mean is RWTools, and although I don't have this toute myself, often the freeware routes downloaded from sites the likes of UKTS have extra downloads requiring to be installed along the routes.

Check if there's a README - file included which lists required downloads, or if the download page for the route on UKTS lists required assets.

Good luck,

There is no Readme as the download is an exe file - however, the requirements are listed on the download information page http://members.uktrainsim.com/filelib-i ... leid=29597 - there are links to all the required downloads.

The text on the information page says:

'Requirements for the Coniston Branch

To use this route you must have the following packs installed. The installer will check and tell you if you are missing any packs.
Required Items

Blocks-Lofts-Bridges #1
Clutter #1
Commercial #1
Foliage #1
Housing #1
Industrial #1
Railway Buildings #1

Optional Items

These packs are only required to run the scenarios and are not required to load the route

UK Carriages #1
UK Classic Diesel and Electric #1
UK DMUs-EMUs-Trams #1
UK Steam #1
UK Wagons #1

But what sometimes happens is, you uninstall something with package manager and it also removes freeware pack items, if the package you uninstalled, was also in one of the packs because the package manager has no record of them.
